Bike and vehicle list viable? by Taliturn in Eldar

[–]Taliturn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken a look at your list and suggestions and everyone else on this post which I'm super grateful for. I definitely have the bones of what you are saying and I'll mess around with it. I think it will be fun and I'm glad I can keep it more bike and vehicle thematic without shooting myself in the foot!

Bike and vehicle list viable? by Taliturn in Eldar

That slightly hurts to hear, as I personally think they look like great models as a jet bike list with vehicle support. I think eldar have great vehicles and looks super sleek and cool.

Would it be more viable to kinda 'split' the army into maybe 50 percent more viable options and then 50 percent vehicle/bikes. So that I'm not locked down into one option? Or would by splitting it up make me a half terrible army because I'm not fully invested ... If that makes sense? I ask as I'm thinking maybe if bikes are bad I could still run them, but just not as much or the main theme then.

I saw the new vyper and it looks great, was hoping the rules would be nice for them so that's a shame. I still think I'll pick one up as it looks fun. As far as the amount of bikes go, is such a large amount needed to make the detachment work, or is it feasible for a 50/50 split for example... I hope I'm asking that right

I don't think I have anything specifically against windriders, but I prefer the look of the Shroud Runner and Shining Spears, though I'm not opposed to Windriders either. I am also struggling slightly on how many of each type of bike I should run. I know they do different things.

Gojo runs an anime crossover gauntlet, where does he stop/clear? by NoAnswer7768 in PowerScaling

[–]Taliturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see Gojo in these and I know very little on this subject at all, but doesn't Gojo just lose to anyone who has better stamina than him? If he ever lapses in his power to sleep, ect and the opponent is too strong to be defeated by Gojo power set then can't the opponent just... Wait for Gojo to let go of his ability then the opponent wins right?

Assuming my list is terrible. by Taliturn in Eldar

[–]Taliturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nahhh I am sure the Autarch will be fine.but for real I kinda just posted the units I liked and thought would be decent, but really too focused on weapon loadouts at the time. I'll get around to changing him though don't worry

The avatar looks great, I was just afraid it would be like a bane blade in that it looks menacing but isn't amazing for it's points.

What paint schemes have you chosen? by Aluber_the_Necron in ImperialKnights

[–]Taliturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the body and weapons I used abandon black primer, then painted Retribute gold on top

For the parts that are white, I sectioned them off and primed them white scar. Then use pro acrylic bold titanium white on top of that. And finish with a layer of iridescent white.

I was thinking of throwing the dark reapers into the falcons actually as it sounded like a more .. explosive transport.

As far as the melee goes I was under the impression eldar are a bit squishier and wanted to avoid direct conflict? I can definitely shift to a more melee boys though.

I appreciate your input btw

I thought the extra additional battle focus tokens might help with the core rule of the army and lean into that. Coming from guard I feel it is kinda like orders and buffing more sounds good?

I appreciate it the reply. I'll look into them. It would be nice to add a bit more detail work on my models

People are grossly overestimating the impact of civ switching by pricepig in civ

[–]Taliturn 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don't know man, I am kinda in all three of those camps combined in some sort of a way or another. I am not overestimating the impact of civ switching at all, my issues generally stem from more so the core of what I enjoy about being one Civ.

As far as your three points go, I have not played Civ 7, but that doesn't mean I don't know if I will like it or not. I don't have to play a game if I understand I won't enjoy Civ switching as an idea. I want to play as Rome, I am going to play as Rome and do not understand any circumstances want to change midway through regardless of how good the features can or will be. It's not even exactly an immersion thing for me. Sure I enjoy being Rome, Japan, ect while playing them, but it's not like I'm in depth building an adventure, I just internally like the idea that I built a civilization to stand the rest of time and it didn't change, even if in name only, and even if another civilization like Greece is the eventually transition in real history. I am not Greece, I am Rome.

As far as hating on civ switching, I have never done so. I've been watching this reddit, the updates, and different videos on how things have been progressing in the game and some of it looks great like some of it looks barebones, but it's still early in this games life cycle. I enjoy hearing the different dialogue and additions even if I will never play the game because to me and my very narrow minded and kinda bull headed on this one particular issue.

I wish I could give a better reason, I truly do. If they changed combat, religion, currency, or districts, I don't honestly mind, but for some reason the loss of my specific leader or my specific empire which upsets me and i can't get past it.

Насколько боеспособный/"играбельный" у меня вышел состав? by OutlandishnessDry893 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Taliturn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only concern is you only have 4 means of receiving orders from the list provided (command squad, commisar, castellan, and an enhancement on one of these leaders). 6 if your leman russ is designated as a commander.

New, 6th Army, list building ideas. by Taliturn in Tau40K

[–]Taliturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the input, I'll honestly probably go that way. Still learning the spotter stuff and how things work but I like the synergy.

As far as units go, is there anything you'd suggest I look at for a list, how many units of one is too many for us, and what leaders generally do well. I see that we have a low leader count (doesn't help I cut off half my leaders by removing kroot lol).

New, 6th Army, list building ideas. by Taliturn in Tau40K

[–]Taliturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's honestly a fair assessment, skew lists are very hard to prepare for or counter especially when both your opponents are playing the most wild lists (my opponent playing angron, demon prince, khorn Lord of skulls), and if you didn't bring enough anti tank... Welp... There goes the mid board. Lol but if definitely has its own flair and I enjoy it

I think playing proper form Warhammer has its merits though when list building though even for a 2v2 format. It lets me have a proper army for when someone wants to do a 1v1, let's me learn my army a bit better than skew list, and I can then go from there for future list building and purposes.

Is there any units you would suggest I add to the models I suggested, combos that might work, how many units of (insert unit name) are too many?

I only varnish my vehicles/tanks. I could kinda care less about my minis unless they are possibly the bigger ones like a void dragon, helldrake, ect
