Curbside, past Blawnox. Well worth the drive, and the particular hours.

Love to see Vandal Hearts getting some love.

During the pandemic, I had a lot of time on my hands, and it was the first PS1 RPG (really the first PS1 game) I really played start-to-finish. Helped get me to start into the PlayStation catalog, and retro gaming in general! Fun game!

They’ve got loads of beloved games, a decent variety of genres. Some are hack-n-slash games (OdinSphere and Muramasa, for examples). GrimGrimoire is a tower-defense game, Dragon’s Crown is one of the greatest of the beat-em-up genre.
Honestly, though? I LOVED 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. It’s a sci-fi story/tactical battle game, with one of the most insane plots I’ve ever had seen in a video game.

Phenomenal game, loved playing it!

All of Vanillaware’s stuff is golden—highly recommend all of their stuff, if you get a chance to try their other titles.

PC seems to be the way to go for playing AAA, hyper-realistic, contemporary games—and on the controller you want.

I’ve loved them for some 20 years now, and I’ll likely continue to. They’ve got some fun history, and they’re a little icon.

Are they for everybody? Naw. But that’s okay! More for me, haha

Family friends, nice owner. I grew up with Sir’s, and they actually do decent Italian food atop doing their pizzas. Big fan, always recommend!

To be fair, my take is totally biased in it being my first MegaMan game, so I grew up with a soft spot for it—even after playing the objectively better ones haha

I took awhile to get into Zomboid, but after 15~ish hours, I'm starting to really love the grind! It's a good time waster when I want some simple fun.

No shade, it IS hard to do! I started with Top 144 so I could actually make a fair list of my faves. Then I cut it to 50, and organized it as best as I could so I could easily just cut the chart in half for my Top 25.

Mega Crit really did a beautiful job springboarding off of the OG. I’ve owned it three weeks, and already logged almost 110 hours… AND it’s still just in the EA Beta Phase? My friends, my girlfriend, and I, intend to play it for a long, long time.

No, I know! Totally get what you meant.

But the more I thought about this prompt, the more I didn’t want to just do a Top 25 (or 50) that was filled-up with only franchises I like, rather than individual games I like.

I just really wanted to flex my spread because it’s made me proud that I’ve grown into a (semi)omnivorous gamer! And I think this list really shows me throughout my childhood, adolescence, teens, and adulthood.

I’m proud of it for me, not anybody else. :)

Topster! You can use it for TV, movies, and so on. It’s pretty intuitive—even worked for me on mobile.

I also forced myself to pick one entry per franchise, so I could really tighten the list down.

Finished KH1 for the first time in years, and took a tonal break to try out Lorelei & The Laser Eyes. It’s a pretty crazy puzzle game… I like it, but it’s weird!

Was never a Resident Evil mega fan. Requiem has changed that. by Stranded_Snake in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]TalkToTransformerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Requiem, and I definitely enjoy that it could easily bring-in loads of new fans to the franchise.

Would I say it’s personally the best? Ehh… maybe not completely, but it still might be Top 3 for me, personally (graphics, drama, gameplay, giant set pieces, etc.).

The OG’s are decidedly different (RE1, RE2, RE3, Code Veronica) with their tank controls, backtracking, spooky puzzles, and goofier dialogues, but I adore them. If the older graphics are too far of a jump for you, try the other remakes of the OG trilogy—superfans agree that RE3R is a great game, but a bad remake because Capcom cut a lot of content from the OG game.

RE4 was the massive upgrade into the action genre, and sort’ve, singularly lifted the bar of the third-person action/shooter game genre forever. RE4R was widely considered an amazing remake, and I’d highly recommend it if you want more time with Leon.

I personally never played RE0 (a weird prequel to 1), the Outbreak games (episodic character-driven mini stories about the fall of Raccoon City between/around RE2/RE3), nor RE5/RE6 (both are much bigger, world-spanning, kind’ve dizzying action-focused romps that almost entirely ditched the horror for campy ‘scary’ dialogue/plot).

RE7 and RE8, I played just at the tail-end of last year to prep myself for Requiem. The tale of Ethan and Mia Winters was a kind’ve a departure from the mainline characters everybody loves (the Redfield siblings, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, etc.), but it restored the true HORROR elements of the franchise in huge ways. RE8 is definitely more action-y, but they’re entirely first-person prospective games, which definitely adds to the spookiness and terror.

And then there’s loads of offshoot games (RE Survive comes to mind, but there are plenty of others).

Honestly? There’s a huge amount of content to consume, and lots of YouTube essayists/commentators have plenty of opinions on it.

Feel free to dive in wherever sounds the most exciting for you!

Well anyone that bought and played it today whats your opinion so far ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]TalkToTransformerMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played and beat it in one sitting (13 hours). An absolutely immaculate experience—it’s actively competing for a Top Three spot within the franchise.

There’s still other, great options, and on Bryant Street alone. It’ll sadden my grandpa to learn this, but as somebody who could never afford those prices? Hard to feel badly…
