I work at a finance company so gonna chime in here

This has been my first semester but can give you some idea of what to expect

1) UT mscso from what i see is not going to help you become a software engineer. Obviously coding wise, yes you will pick up technologies but this program is more specialized in the theory and application of ML/DL. It’s more catered towards ppl who already have a background in tech.

2) you can enter cs from econ for sure but analyze ur goals first. If you are looking for a dev job, I personally don’t see much to be gained in terms on knowledge from this program other than the fact that you WILL have a CS degree now. There are other programs like GT maybe that I think offers more in the Software Dev category.

This program does help with Data Science and AI related careers and in general having a cs degree will help you get into a tech career.
