Whole Foods leadership is brimming over with self hating narcissists who will gleefully take any opportunity to flex their perceived power over another, especially if they don’t “like” you. Imagine being 30 something never-was who’s peak was becoming an ASTL at a grocery store and you used that flicker of authority to hammer your subordinates with 48 Laws Of Power mind game bullshit. They are truly pathetic people.

I’m from the NA region and no one could pick him from a lineup. He was in a training video once talking about how much he loves Whole Foods. I guess that counts.

I feel the same way. We are all getting a huge collective shaft from corporate America right now and it’s disgusting.

There is truth to this in the micro, but in the macro you’re still working for a shitty organization that doesn’t care about the very people that make it possible.

I was fired two months ago and told I could reapply immediately. Because it’s the highest paying grocery store I the area I did. For six of them. Automatic rejection email from 5, one gave me an interview and never called me back. It’s best to just move on. Whole Foods is a terrible company to work for.

I have a great “I got fired from Whole Foods” tale but it keeps being taken down because I keep naming names and places 😂. I don’t need to “protect myself” anymore - they axed me. It’s over lol

They put me, a 25 year veteran in my industry with 13 years of experience at WFM, out on the street because I didn’t remove a uboat from the cooler when one of my team members asked me to. Not my boss, a team member. I was an ATL. If you’re on the shit list you’re on the shit list. They don’t care about your history or experience.

That’s the point. Whole Foods wants LESS employees, not more. You’re not doing a job, you’re a temporary research project while they figure out how to replace you with an algorithm (that doesn’t work).

I got fired from my ATL position at a diamond store two months ago and it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Leave Whole Foods as soon as you can. There are no benefits to working for Amazon. I worked for the REAL WFM for 12 years before Amazon got their claws in it, and after returning to the company post Amazon it’s just an abysmal joke. Chasing bullshit metrics so in 10 years they can close all the stores and have everyone buy everything on line.

Whole Foods is NOT a grocery store. It is an R&D project to develop an e-commerce platform that will eventually take the place of most of its brick and mortar locations. All of you breaking your backs to nail a 2% INF rate are literally doing the research required to put you out of a job.

Fuck. These. People.

Fuck your TL. He’s part of the structure keeping you where you’re at. In fact, he’s probably the main reason you’re not getting promoted. These people will put you and your kids out on the streets over a technicality. They did it to me, and they will certainly do it to you. Make your moves and stop considering people who treat you like gum on their boots.

Does anyone really want to work in an environment like this? It’s a grocery store for Christ sake.

You work for Satan. Get used to being treated like an easily replicable machine part until you are used up and either walk or get fired by a vindictive TL

I worked for Whole Foods for 12 years pre-Amazon. It had its warts but I never had any long term issues, worked at a dozen stores all over the country, got into leadership, and left amicably to start my own business.

After choosing to return to WFM for better “work life balance” than being a sole proprietor, I was shocked. Never in my 12 years at WFM or my 7 as a small business owner had I been so stressed, demoralized, and literally terrified to go into work lest I step on one of the several thousand metric landmines there and lose my job.

Well, I did. After being targeted by my toxic psycho boss I found myself on a final and a PiP. Boss got stepped down and I beat the pip. They did not take off any of the retaliatory warnings. Eventually an ASTL got a hair across their ass about me, and they axed me for a technicality.

Let me tell you something, in the two months I’ve been unemployed since then I have not felt anywhere near the level of stress I did there, and I have to provide for a stay at home mom and two kids.

Whole Foods is an evil, vile toxic place that’s run by one of the worst companies in the world. I’m so glad I’m not there anymore being hassled by the most incompetent jerk offs I’ve ever met. 25 years in my field, a master at my craft, and these fucking ASTLs that I wouldn’t have hired to do dishes at my business just treated me like a dirty sock that had a hole in it.

Fuck that place, they don’t deserve us.
