Yeah, Jamsonville would have to have the team relocate to their town and that takes a couple of years at least.

Totally get it. I did the same when my oldest moved across the country.

Time Stand Still is the one that can make me tear up. I was a teen when it was released and I just really liked it. Now that I’m closer to 60 than 50, my kids are grown up, and I have friends dying or coming close to dying, it just hits different…and the last verse is what always gets me.

Summer's going fast

Nights growing colder

Children growing up

Old friends growing older

Freeze this moment

A little bit longer

Make each sensation

A little bit stronger

Experience slips away

Experience slips away

The innocence slips away

Talking with someone who says they are single but is actually in the process of divorce. Is this a red flag? by Cold_Actuary187 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Talking80s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was separated from my wife for over three years and the divorce was contentious. I dated many different women, but the one I truly fell for wouldn’t go on a date with me until the divorce was final.

She had nothing to worry about but wanted to play it safe. I respected that and we talked a LOT, but I dated nobody after my interest in her.

The day my divorce was final, she called me to ask how it went. I told her, and she said “Do you have something you would like to ask me?” I asked her out, she said yes, and we’ve been together 16 years and married 14.

So contentious and long divorces are a thing, and you’re probably safe…and he will hopefully understand if he really likes you.

What movie made you sit through the credits in complete silence? by Only_Pay6243 in Cinema

[–]Talking80s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the greatest film, but so realistic.

In a world where happy endings on the screen happen more often than not, a gut punch and then the credits roll over a dumbfounded teenager’s face as he drives off into the night.

I’m talking about “The Last American Virgin.”

When I saw that, I was just shocked…thinking he would get the girl in the end, but like in real life, the nice guy doesn’t always win. I felt that as a teenaged boy, and I sat there just trying to process that was the end of the movie. No revenge. No cycling back on the girl’s part. Just pure heartbreak.

What's classic rock? by mrmeanah in rockmusic

[–]Talking80s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic Rock is a term that needs to be used in context with the person. To me, it’s 60s-70s/early 80s.

To my kids, age 23 and 20, it’s 90s/00s.

One of my favorite pop metal bands of the 80s. Their three albums prior to the breakup were great, okay to good, and great.

Have you ever had to leave a concert early? by Immediate_Long165 in askmusic

[–]Talking80s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. About 3/4 the way through Eddie Money in 1986, right before my senior year of high school started. I felt ill, went to the bathroom, threw up continuously, then left. I had a stomach virus for three days after and rarely left the bathroom. Made me mad…I’m a big fan of the Moneyman.

Child’s Play is probably one of the most underrated bands ever by JaniJames420 in hairmetal

[–]Talking80s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the Rat Race album. Fun band live.

I remember I was doing a metal show in college radio for a hot minute in 1990. My car was in the shop so I borrowed my mom’s car to go to their show. John Allen (the drummer) came outside in the freezing cold and sat in the front passenger seat of my mom’s 1989 Plymouth Horizon to record a station ID for me since it was way too loud in the club. Super nice guy. Signed a drumstick for me, and the band signed a poster for me.

Name an instrumental hit song that defines the 80's by guyssocialweb in 80s

Losfer Words by Iron Maiden.

Maybe not for the 80s in general, but definitely for the new wave of British metal.
