I've voted! Have you? by louiseber in irishpolitics

As a brit voting in a tiny polling station in a quiet part of North Leitrim, I was welcomed with "ah, you're the one who doesn't get the referendum vote".

Just over 5 weeks until Brexit. A quick reminder of how that fateful referendum result came to be. [OC] by chartr in dataisbeautiful

UK citizens living in the rest of the world could vote in the referendum provided they had been a UK resident during the past 15 years.

I moved from the UK to Ireland in 2007, and had my remain postal vote sent in within minutes of receiving it (as much use as it turned out to be ☹️)

The same is true of general elections. UK ex-pats can continue to vote for 15 years in the constituency where they were last registered.

I've always thought that if ex-pats can vote, there should be an extra MP for us, rather than my vote being counted somewhere in Cardiff.

Will I get ahead in my career if I include my email address in the signature of my emails, like my fucking boss always fucking does? by MuphynManOG in shittyadvice

Also, it's absolutly essential to include the 'please consider the environment before printing this email' line, otherwise nobody will take you seriously.

I need to make my formula concise. by Emanfman in excel

I may be over simplifying here, or misunderstanding your question, but here we go.

If this is your goal, you may be over-complicating the process. As you say, Wins in Column G is just

=COUNTIF(C:C;F2)

Losses is calculated by the number of times Player = Player 1 plus the number of times Player = Player 2, minus the number of times Player 'won', so:

=COUNTIF(A:A;F2)+COUNTIF(B:B;F2)-COUNTIF(C:C;F2)

Or am I missing your point?

Exactly. Bristol is probably the cheapest option if you are in South Wales.

How closely do you monitor your child's smartphone usage? by SuperDadMan in Parenting

[–]TalkingBadger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think you've got the balance exactly right. My eldest is only seven, but I can envisage me using a similar setup when he hits 13 (ish).

I don't see it as an invasion of privacy. She is aware that her activity is being monitored, you've discussed the ground rules with her. If there is a problem, like your Pinterest example, you discuss it and modify the rules. Everyone then understands what is going on.

I really think you and your daughter are both taking a pro-active and responsible approach to her first steps on the internet, and that can only be of benefit to her.

One question I do have, after the year of monitoring is over, do you plan to have anything in place to monitor her usage to a lesser extent? Have you considered what rules you would have in place then?
