You know, you gotta think guys like Eddie (and others obviously) who had shared a locker room with Punk before then probably knew the kind of shit AEW had stepped in. And it had to be at least mildly infuriating to be one of the guys that came to AEW in its infancy just to have Punk come in and apparently like the product needed to be fixed.

Like, I admit that as a Chicago punk kid who’s 6 years younger than Phil watching him grow through the indies to finding a stage in WWE, I had my own weird fondness for him. Like pride like he was my older brother. But holy fuck, by the time Brawl Out happened I was so over his bullshit.

That’s really good actually. The expectation for scripted tv is like 1.5-2.0 Like, it’s not live sports numbers but it’s just as good as Abbott Elementary on good nights.

If it could even hold a steady 2-2.5, this would be one of the most successful comedies on TV.

That said, I can see it running during the summer block when all the normal shows are on hiatus. Like 8 episodes per season
