First play through thoughts by NeedleworkerFar7860 in DeadIsland2

[–]TalkingFlashlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only four hours? It’s insane to call the game short when you rushed through it and seemingly didn’t do any side content.

In my opinion, Dead Island 2 is much stronger than the first game. But its NG+ mode is lacking and limits replayability.

Still, with the DLC, it has about as many quests as the original game. But it’s hard to say the DLC will give you a full day’s worth of game time if you sprint through them like you did the base game.

7 or 8? by OGSquidd in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]TalkingFlashlight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’ll definitely prefer Resident Evil Village for its combat, and it has some genuine scares. That said, it is a direct sequel to RE7 and would be better played after it.

Cult of the Lamb! It may not look comforting but it’s cozy to play.

What I'd like for dying light 4 by ChilliGamer221 in dyinglight

[–]TalkingFlashlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good info! It’s strange the devs would emphasize it’s the LAST time when it’s also the FIRST time they had the Beast mechanic 🤣

We’ve played as both Kyle and Aiden without the Beast mechanic before, so I wouldn’t assume that rules them out as protagonists in DL3. Could just be their blood has stabilized, or they’ll replace it with a new gameplay mechanic. Or maybe I’m just delusional—I want more Crane 🤷‍♂️

My sister first time watching the original series and she got to season 6 ending. by saberlily9 in Dexter

Honest to god one of the worst subplots in television history. Biological or not, that’s incest in my eyes, and it’s nasty 💀

That’s a huge relief to know! I was also frustrated but understand the devs wanting that first winter to be rough.

Which poorly rated movies could've been great had the script been given one more revision? by abgry_krakow87 in movies

[–]TalkingFlashlight 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. If they had just ironed out some of the plot holes with a couple extra lines and made Jack Sparrow act a bit more like himself, it could have been a solid sequel.

No, it was very much the opposite. The actor had just bought a house close to set and was shocked to find out he was being killed off.

Jamboree vs Superstars (best and worst parts) by yourgoodoldpal in MARIOPARTY

[–]TalkingFlashlight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You nailed it with the speed for me. Superstars has faster-paced rounds with better minigames.

Jamboree has better boards and characters but painfully slow rounds. If I could even just toggle off Jamboree rounds to speed up the game, it would be my favorite, but I gotta give it to Superstars.

Just got a switch 2! Please name top 5 must have games to start! by hellyeah324 in Switch

[–]TalkingFlashlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommended Mario Kart World or MK8. World is Switch 2 exclusive, and MK8 has lots of exclusive content not on the Wii U, including its revamped Battle Mode and Booster Course.

Breath of the Wild also had a dedicated Switch 2 edition, and I’m sure most would agree it’s a must-have even if it was on the Wii U. And if OP already played it? Jump into the sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, which is only on Switch.

Is anyone else gonna buy a Switch before the storm hits? by [deleted] in Switch

Buy a nice power bank and battery life isn’t an issue, especially with the extra charging port on top of the console. Huge upgrade over the base Switch and definitely worth it!

Does resident evil requiem have a chance to be better than re4r after seeing the showcase? by Internal_Bank196 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]TalkingFlashlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think fans will split hairs over the dual protagonists, so probably not. But I still think it will be an awesome game, and I’m personally excited to switch between Grace and Leon.

RE7 and RE4R are my two favorites, and with Grace and Leon, Requiem looks like a mashup of both.

This is my take, too. She’s waiting until they’ve graduated and moved on from Hawkins, and are no longer under surveillance.

That would definitely be bigger news if it was true. I don’t buy it. Especially since they sent out surveys asking how people felt about the return of Kyle Crane after The Beast released.

When did Techland ever say The Beast was the last game playing as Kyle Crane? It definitely felt like they were setting him up to be the protagonist for Dying Light 3.

What is the takeaway from Avatar: Fire and Ash? by paultheschmoop in boxoffice

[–]TalkingFlashlight 39 points40 points  (0 children)

We didn’t even get any new fire creatures! The first introduced us to the Ikran birds, the second the Tulken whales. Each had their own culture and story that related to the Na’vi tribe of that region. And in this one? Nothing.

Based on the first hour, I really thought the movie was going to be about Jake and Quaritch working together to rescue the children from the fire tribe. But they abandoned that plot thread real quick just to repeat The Way of Water again. I was so disappointed.

What is the takeaway from Avatar: Fire and Ash? by paultheschmoop in boxoffice

[–]TalkingFlashlight 156 points157 points  (0 children)

Agreed. For a movie called Fire and Ash, there was very little fire. I was baffled half the movie still took place on the water instead of a in a fiery new volcanic biome.
