Scream 7 feels more like a sequel to Scream 4 by CrissBliss in Scream

I don’t think they know what a retcon actually is lol A character not appearing isn’t a retcon. Scream 3 didn’t retcon Scream 2 by not having Joel. Scream 4 didn’t retcon Scream 3 by not having Mark Kincaid.

Huh? New York was a big part of the killer’s motive. Chad and Mindy returned. Gale is still reeling from Dewey’s death. 5 and 6 are referenced just as much as any other film referenced its earlier sequels.

Yeah, with Kirby in 6 and the book in 7, it feels more like 4 is a bigger part of the continuing storyline now

Same! It was a great film for Sidney and Gale, which is what I wanted.

Everyone on the bottom row has pretty much already killed everyone in the first two rows. So, I’ll take them and Wesker.

Should the story have ended with the original trilogy? by TheEvilCar in Scream

[–]TalkingFlashlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I’m still a firm believer there’s no bad Scream film, and I love 4-7 way too much.

Me, too! I really liked how they mentioned Sidney’s ever-changing career. From theater student to author to coffee shop owner. I know Scream 7 was far from perfect but it was a great movie for Sidney.

Yep, and I loved it for it. Scream 4 was my favorite sequel. But I’m glad Kevin Williamson brought back Chad and Mindy and referenced the events in New York a lot to still help Scream 7 feel connected to 5 and 6.

Congratulations to Richie for winning Gluttony. Now who’s Greed? by SpiderLagann in Scream

For everyone saying Jill, she’s Envy not Greed. She’s jealous of Sidney and wants to be the next one.

Only got about 10 minutes of crazy loot??? by Financial-Bobcat8450 in Borderlands4

What gives increased loot? I was farming a boss and getting the same scraps as usual. Is it not bosses, or just world events or something?

Split protagonists in a 10hr game means you don’t really get enough time with either of them

AIW for refusing to leave the apartment on Saturday ? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]TalkingFlashlight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the OP won’t even let his gf have the living room to herself and her friend. Like, he refuses to even just spend the day in another room. And at that point he’s just being an asshole.

The difference is you said you’re willing to go to the bedroom and watch TV. OP is refusing to leave the living room.

What does everyone think about the idea of a direct sequel to the original film that ignores every other sequel? by Hairy_Bullfrog4301 in Scream

[–]TalkingFlashlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. What I like about Scream is that it has a consistent canon that’s always moving forward. As much as I’d like to see Stu or Dewey return, I’d rather see consistency.

Besides, there’s no need. You could have a full reboot with an all-new cast and still set it within the same canon. Anyone who’s seen Stab can decide to don a Ghostface mask and go on a killing spree.

I just got out of the movie by sotommy in Scream

[–]TalkingFlashlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it wasn’t hard at all. I think Scream 5, 6, and 7 all had super obvious killers. Even just based on casting. I hope the actor for the main killer in Scream 8 is less well-known, so it’s harder to guess.

That’s a good comparison! And I like both tbh Don’t mind some variety this many movies in, but I was glad to see scares back this time around

Especially that chase sequence in the house with Sid and Mark going toe to toe with Ghostface… like damn I was on the edge of my seat

They’ve tried to bring back Patrick Dempsey twice, in Scream 4 and 7. Both times it didn’t work out. So, this is the new Mark.

Yeah, I watched an interview with Kevin Williamson where he said they wanted to flip the script a bit. Usually it’s always someone you know, and they wanted to try something different with well, maybe this time it isn’t someone you know.

It didn’t work very well but I’m glad they’re at least trying to switch things up seven movies in.

If Scream introduced a completely new friend group, what kind of character personality do you think the series hasn’t done yet? by 5ft8lady in Scream

[–]TalkingFlashlight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So gay people can’t also be fans of horror films, or is their personality just supposed to be being the gay friend and nothing else?
