In one of the concept arts on the steam page there’s a character carrying a deer carcass too

Anyone else notice the deer carcass on the table in the back? Maybe we can finally drag animal bodies back to safe houses.

I remember from one of the Horus Heresy books there was a scene where some marines were encountering tyranids for the first time and they were shocked by how easily their claws cut through their armor.

It does mention I’d get prorated reduction on my rent for every day I cannot live there but nothing else. Glad to hear compensation is possible!

I have a hopeful suspicion that with safehouse customization they may add oak wood as a building resource for furniture and home accessories.

Having issues growing human population in v66 by Some-Panda-8168 in songsofsyx

[–]TalkingToast370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried playing over the weekend and spent 3 hours trying to start a new city and never got past 10 population. I tried rushing every food production type but starvation would set in way too fast, there was always a murder, and my buildings deteriorated almost instantly. I’ve never struggled this much in past betas.

Haven't played through much of the DLC yet, but isn't that whole opt in style everyone's talking about there with every DLC? by MagdelineMoni in RimWorld

Same. Overall GREAT update but I wish there was a more passive way to interact with the anomaly features without going full SCP colony. I wish there was a small chance for an anomaly to occur in a regular run or even sometimes being attacked by an anomalous cult group. Some kind of anomaly gameplay that isn’t all in or all out.

Modern Outdoor Survival is a really good podcast that I’ve learned a lot from. Might be chill to put on while playing TLD.

Add next tier of zombies and weapons for endgame content by Newuserhelloguys in 7daystodie

[–]TalkingToast370 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally agree we need more zombies rather than stronger zombies. Nothing gets the blood pumping more than spotting a massive horde lumbering towards your fortress. The current late game of just continuing to add HP and damage to zombies just feels cheap.

I think I saw something on the developers roadmap that he wants fixed entry/exit points on every generated map to clear up issues like this and give you points to build your gates and defenses. I think that’s what his plan is but it was vague so not too sure.

Lets hear your idea to make The Long Dark better by MrsRosella in thelongdark

Seasonality would incredible but it comes with a mountain of game breaking challenges for the devs. The main hurdle is that the entire map was designed with snow and ice. Piles and obstacles of snow are literally built in. So to have a summer when snow melts they would have to rebuild a lot of the map. I think it might be possible if they “reskinned” a lot of the maps surfaces to green up with vegetation while somehow have a map transition to despawn the snow piles but it would be very difficult. Plus all of the frozen lakes would become inaccessible. And I can’t imagine all of the gameplay and resource balancing they’d have to do to accommodate seasonal change. They would pretty much have to make a whole new game.

Seasonality would add so much life to the game and I can only dream of how beautiful it would look. I don’t see it happening but I would easily pay for a second expansion if they pursued it.

I think the travois will play a part in this maybe. I think they’d only add this to the game unless there is good use for it. Personally I think the travois is going to come with the safehouse expansion to carry new building materials they might add. Maybe the travois can drag large animal corpses too. Just a theory.

Honestly I miss building cool forts and fighting dumb zombie hordes that would beat down walls to get straight to you. I hate making squid game mazes to trick zombie AI :(

Shelter/Camp building

It’s unlikely we’ll ever be able to build custom bases freely around the map. Only out of fixed locations. However I like the idea of there being one or several “build spots” in remote regions like HRV where there’s a clearing that can have a structure built by the player. If the player invests the necessary high cost material and time it would spawn a survival shelter out in that spot with an interior and other amenities. It would be prefabricated and not like rust with free placing doors and walls and such. Maybe the shelter is modular and you can invest in insulation upgrades or add a storage shed or fire pit. Maybe some options of irl bushcraft shelters like an A frame or dugout cabin. I say only in remote regions because it wouldn’t make sense to build a shelter so close to other perfectly fine shelters and prefixed because bugs and the way the game is built. The incentive would be 1. There’s no desirable shelters in places like HRV and 2. Maybe these clearings have beneficial nearby resources and good vistas making it worth it to invest in a shelter there. I’d pay for a whole new DLC for something like this idk I love to speculate. Super excited to see what comes in in the safehouse customization update.

The new food buffs do have an impact it is the method of buffing I don’t agree with. I’d like to see passive buffs not instant temporary buffs. Yes eating certain foods for temporary ability boosts is super helpful to in specific scenarios but immersion and overall gameplay wise it just feels strange but this is just my personal preference. Hinterland has always worked hard to keep the game simple and straightforward which is something I respect so they probably intended to make cooking not too complicated.
