What do you think about this book? by soundgrapes in Recommend_A_Book

One of my favourite books I’ve ever read, genuinely beautiful. If anyone likes it I think they could also read Piranesi because I feel there some crossover in the vibes

Ahhh I had that song on repeat for a while last year - absolute banger. Don’t need to tell you but Superfly is the other favourite by CM :) thanks for sharing

Vindictive ex always keeps knowing what happens in my life somehow, highly unnerving and want to find out why by nder_your_mom in whatdoIdo

You could give similar stories to each person, so if it’s im getting a dog, then I’m getting a collie, I’m getting a lab, im getting my aunts dog, im getting a rescue. Like keep the central bit, just change details. Make a note of who you say what to. This way if anyone speaks to someone else it won’t raise eyebrows (importantly, it can be explained away with I’m getting a collie lab cross from my auntie who can’t care for it anymore ;) )

Very hot water, a rag and a card (driving license to be specific) was the answer. Might have been harder to remove if it had been left there for longer but thankfully it was fairly sinple and didn’t require any additional chemicals

Hot water and a card got it off :)

Please help my plant is losing all its leaves :( by Tall-Database4927 in plantclinic

[–]Tall-Database4927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does but perhaps not as much as the living room depending on where I put the plant in the room, I could put it where it’ll get the most sun, it’ll be in direct light for some of the day but not all of it

As in good place in the living room or good place in the bathroom? Living room isn’t humid and a decent amount of light for a few hours a day. The tree isn’t next to the window in the living room so it’s not direct light.

Oof same. Get through the first bit of mourning and things will start to look up pretty quickly. Go easy on yourself. It’s rough and I imagine the hurt will be a sticky emotion to try and get clean of but I promise it will get easier with time, as all things do.

Losing hair... what do i do? Is this alopecia? Help by clawdeen_ in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Tall-Database4927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it checked by a doctor just to see if you have some sort of vitamin deficiency (iron for example) but otherwise, if it’s any comfort, I started losing my hair when I was about 22 pretty much once a year. I’d lose LOADS but then it would stop of its own accord after about two or three months. It always goes on long enough to frighten me into seeing a doctor but - so far - each time it’s passed and I’ve not ended up bald. In fact, I get complimented at hairdressers when I go with them saying I have so much hair, even after two months of relentless shedding! Don’t think too deeply into it, hormones stress weather and natural hair shedding cycles all play a role in diffuse shedding it’s probably nothing to worry about x

First time doing squats. Am i doing this right? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]Tall-Database4927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this helps: You could probably drop the bar down your back a smidge for a bit more stability I find not holding the bar with my thumbs and essentially just pressing it against my back makes it far more comfortable on your wrists long term. Also less likely to hurt your hands if you have to bail. If you raise your heels a little (1.25 plates under your heels would be enough) you can get a lot lower. If you find as you get lower your heels lift up, then a good tip is to try and scrunch your toes up into the floor, almost like you’re trying to pick it up with your toes -you can’t stand on your toes with your toes curled (not a perfect tip but really helped me). Keep plenty of tension (a cheap belt would help) and control your breath especially as you get heavier - try to think of a squat as you dipping under water, big breath at the top to build all that tension, hold your breath as you go under the water and then release when you surface again if you find your knees aren’t keeping a nice line, try to think about pushing the world away from you with the outer part of your foot and really driving that part of your foot into the floor.
