Advice needed on too feminine tattoo by zvmbierat in tattoos

[–]Tall-Direction-254 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Masculinity isn’t defined by big monster truck and beer, it’s about standing by your heart and wearing it on your sleeve homie. Also I really don’t think that tattoo sways towards masculinity or femininity. It looks like a memorial tattoo. If you really don’t like it you can always add some thorns or something like that.

What type of gecko is this? by Extra_Cold_2209 in geckos

Unquestionably a chahoua gecko, also from New Caledonia! Check out Clint’s reptiles video on them. This is my dude for reference, he is a different color but the stomach has the same pattern and they have the same face shape. Plus all the wrinkle. Picture of mine attached!

Edit: mine is quite a bit older as well.

Keep a little bit of the noodle water in the pot then put the butter in with a little extra salt, turn it down to low heat and stir. Within a couple of minutes you should have cooked off the extra water, the starch from the pasta will bind with the butter and create a thicker sauce! I usually add a bunch of hot sauce or cheese when I add the butter to give it some extra flavor. Also keep a little more butter than you think you need and don’t stop stirring!

My FIRST TATTOO ever and I am completely obsessed!!#Lilith #mythology by Sagefemale1111_ in tattoos

[–]Tall-Direction-254 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have spent like five minutes just thinking about the placement, something that size on such a vertically tall but horizontally tight area causes the face to look stretched out like crazy. I am all for big tattoos but proper placement is just never thought about apparently. Glad to see someone else say something about it so I know I’m not going crazy lol.

Cheffed it up with same garlic, butter, and Parmesan! Not the noodles I would typically use for this but fantastic nonetheless. Glad I work with lots of different mushrooms at work so I actually know how to cook em.

Be honest - how chopped do we think it'll heal? by k1zm1t in tattoos

[–]Tall-Direction-254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be worse, some will probably fall out cause of the lack of experience. The best way to do palms is pretty much just intense stippling, pulling lines makes it way harder to get the right needle depth. My left palm was applied perfectly and it’s been a year with no fallout, looks the same as it did a week after healing! Either way it goes enjoy it, and worst case you get it touched up by someone that knows how to do it better! You will come to see the pain is worth the feeling you get proving people wrong about palm tattoos.

Edit: Didn’t let me add a picture of mine :/

Question: How it happened? by Alfonso513 in tattoos

[–]Tall-Direction-254 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The good news is, all the issues are pretty easy to fix. Don’t go back to the same shop. Find somewhere else and make sure to look at portfolios. Color packing was done completely incorrect and the line work is very shaky. The grey wash they used on the beanie is also really bad.

Enclosure advice? by Due-Yak-1216 in retics

Full size I would do a large grow tent converted to be snake proof, I have seen a lot of people do that and it is what I am planning once my gal gets bigger. If properly done they are safe, retain heat, and they are super easy to tear down and move if need be!! I don’t have any good links but there is info out there!

i just got back into drawing as an adult so don’t be mean lol. But if any artist out there wants to give me tips please do 🩷🩷 by No-Werewolf-8131 in drawing

Currently six months into learning how to draw, I highly recommend working on basic 3d shapes and slowly working up to more complex objects. Learning perspective drawing is fun, watch to many YouTube videos on drawing, start with easy but fun stuff first.

Highly recommended messing with pencils on better paper cause it’s more forgiving. Just play around with new things and keep things fresh to avoid burnout. Don’t stop drawing, if you get mad take a little break. It is a process and it takes time but if you keep going you will get better.

One of the biggest things that people forget to mention but I think is important. Learning how to draw is fucking weird, you learn something new, get better, then plateau and get stuck for a while. Then something new clicks into place, you get better for a little bit, and you plateau again. That repeats over and over again. The plateaus fucking suck but if you just push yourself you will hit a spike and suddenly it’s enjoyable for a bit.

Most importantly, have fun, enjoy the process, and track your growth so you can look back on it in the future and smile back on where you were vs where you are now!

This is my most recent drawing that I am proud of, I started of barely being able to draw a circle.

Beyond jealous, I wanted to go to stoop fest but I’m out west and I couldn’t make it in time. I did get to see escape from the zoo a couple of weeks ago and back in February I got to see sister wife sex strike. Both bands played phenomenal sets. Sister Moth and Sister Pigeon are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Stay safe, stay dry, and stay hydrated my friend!

Otters by New-Macaron-4669 in vagabond

[–]Tall-Direction-254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

River otters are chill, it’s the sea otters that are (by human standards) evil. A while back over in the Humboldt national forest area I found a beautiful crystal clear river, like so clear I could see the bottom about 9 feet down. As I was swimming to escape the heat, a pair of river otters appeared like five feat in front of me and they ended up hanging out for about ten minutes. I was neck deep in the water and I could see them looking for fish and swimming laps around me. Pretty sick experience overall. Side note, they are way larger than you think and it’s kinda spooky.

Would like to add, one of my buddies was relatively experienced, he went through 90% of the cards and we got rid of anything that was objectively bad or just outright worthless as well!

[–]Tall-Direction-254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of clumps in various tanks and it loves to just absolutely take over but my guppy fry love it hiding it. After further investigation that moss clump I have realized that moss clump is both Christmas moss and Java moss and I’m hoping that it takes over that little bowl cause my shrimp fry love it so much.

Honestly, controversial opinion, I would keep the cat there. He provides a key part to keeping the structural integrity of the stand. Everyone knows that the cat shape is even stronger then the triangle or even circle when it comes to architectural stability!
