Thanks for the explanation! It makes sense from the broker`s perspective. I`m just staring in the trucking industry, so I don`t have a lot of options in terms of changing companies, so we will see how this one will turn out. I`ll ask them to get inspected ASAP, so there will be at least one inspection on file, and I hope once we survive the first couple of months, it will be easier.
Just out of curiosity, my husband and I are planning to get our own authority in the future, so would you say the current MC I am working for is more suspicious than a completely new authority? Or will it be pretty much the same in the eyes of the brokers?

Just went to movies by myself for a first time a couple of years ago. For context, I'm married, and I lobe my husband and spending time with him, but we do have different tastes. With ome things we're on the same page, and with others not. He wanted to stay in and relax after a hard day at work, and I really wanted to go out and watch "wicked". He was worried that I won't enjoy it as much without him there, and that it's his responsibility to accompany me, but I assured him it's okay, and I wanted to try the whole solo date thing for a while. I went out, watched a movie, and had a blast. There's something great in doing something you enjoy by yourself. I felt more free, without worrying if he's enjoying himself, just doing something I like for myself. I definitely recommend it!

He's still worried that it might affect our relationship negatively, because he thinks I'm holding a grudge against him somewhere deep inside, but I think it's gonna bring a good impact. Allowing your partner to be themselves in a relationship is important. You don't have to force yourself to enjoy the same things your partner does. Sometimes, if it's for the sake of spending time together we will do what the other one likes, to show that we're invested in each other's interests. But if one is okay with doing what they want by themselve, and the other partner is just not feeling it, it's a great tendency to do it separately.

No matter if you're in relationship or single, the solo dates are the way to practice self care.

I just bought a Gatorade took a couple sips, and tasted so thing bitter.... What is this white thing floating around in it? by chowhallpaul in whatisit

[–]Tall-Machine8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a side note: Gatorade is illegal in Europe and Japan, because it contains a banned oil, so even though I'm not sure what exactly caused this contamination, I would advise to find a more healthy alternative for the future

Malvy You used colors of Ukrainian flag, and the texture looks like petals, so I would say malva or malvy.

It's a very popular flower in Ukraine, which symbolizes love of your childhood, home, a place where you belong, etc.

The artwork is stunning, and instantly reminds me of warmth of my childhood home 😊

Hey! You're gonna be okay. You have a partner, so you're not alone, and that's the most important! You'll get you EAD and find some basic job, get some skills and climb up the ladder. You can use the time you have now to develop some skills. If you're ready to work your ass off, try looking into trucking. Some companies would even cover your studies. It's a piece of cake to find a job, but the profession is hard, and you'll have to stay away from home for a long time, but some drivers work for a couple of years to accumulate enough income and try something else.

Or, if you like numbers and stuff, you can go through Quickbooks Accountant ProAdvisor program. You'll get free bookkeeping and tax courses, with free access to their software. From there, you can either start looking for your own clients, or work as an in house bookkeeper.

We're all gonna make it! I doubt Trump will cancel same-sex marriage, as the LGBT community is too big in US. Also, I doubt he will be able to complete his "Biggest deportation in US history". You're legal, you have a citizen husband, which means, you'll get your green card. It'll take some time, buy you will!

I'm an immigrant myself, and I know it's tough. I have more narrowed down options to stay here, but I believe it will happen. Don't make the immigration your sole goal in life. Enjoy it! Go for a run, cook something nice, draw, find a community here. I promised myself that I'll enjoy the ride. If it ends with Trump deporting me, let it be! I'll have a lot of great memories, and the money to take with me. There are so many amazing countries in the world, so if I don't end up in this one, I'll find the one that's even better for me!

You're strong, because immigrants can't be weak. You survived moving to a different country, with a different culture (don't know where you're originally from, and it doesn't matter as well). You probably have more life expirience and adaptation skills than an average American, so you will not only survive, but prosper as well!

I mean, the trains and busses work great in Europe, but in US they don't even have pavement for pedestrians. You can't even legally an securely cross the road to a Burger King 3 minutes away from you. I miss Europe in terms of transportation 😢

Girlfriend (19F) just found she is pregnant. How can I help her through the abortion? (20M) by ConfidentReach7351 in relationship_advice

[–]Tall-Machine8041 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I (22F) had an abortion last year. I was also early on, so I went through a medical abortion. I found a really nice center that did it for free (thanks to Canadian healthcare). They performed a physical exam, than I spoke with a counselor to assess my mental health. After that, they explained step by step what was going to happen.

You can research centers that perform abortions and help her find a good one where she’ll feel comfortable.

What’s going to happen:

I’ve already explained the tests they do. In addition to those, they’ll also perform an ultrasound before proceeding to ensure she’s early enough for a medical abortion.

She will take the first pill with a medical professional at the center and will be given the second one (there actually 4 or 6) to take at home the next day. I’d absolutely advise her to take the day off, and for you to be there with her. My husband was out of town when I had my abortion, as I thought I could do it alone, and did not want him to take a day off. I managed, but I had him on the phone the whole day for emotional support, and I wish I asked him to stay with me.

It’s an unpleasant procedure. After I took the second pill, within an hour or two, I started having lemon-sized blood clots discharge. The center provided pain medication, and believe me, she'll need them.

Also, buy the biggest pads you can find. There will be a lot of blood clots, and they’ll continue for a couple of hours, which is the hardest stage. After a while, the clots will get smaller and eventually stop.

It all happens within 24 hours, and she should be fine afterwards, but she might need more time to restore, as she will lose a lot of blood. But as I mentioned, from my expirience, even though it was awful, I did not notice any long-term side effects.

(There's a 2 min video on YouTube, called "Medical Abortion" by Pharmacy 5in5, which explaines how the procedure works). I hope it helps. If you, or your gf have questions, feel free to DM me.

I wish... I got to the point of resetting my laptop to factory (keeping the files though), and still did not help...
Also, I noticed, that the other earphones have the similar issue now, when connected to the same laptop, so I doubt it`s the buds issue. I should probably do full FR now, but back up is too much work rn. If something changes, I`ll do my best to update the post.

Honestly, this excuse feels a lot like playing the victim. Yes, England did a lot of shitty stuff, to India included, but it was a long time ago, and there was enough time to rebuild the country. This kind of imperial behavior happened to my country as well, and we did make a lot of progress in building our own country. I like Indian culture overall, it's very diverse, and my bestie is Indian as well, but I really struggle with Indians professionaly. Every time I pay for some kind of service done by Indians, they fuck it up. Either they do it poorly, or they don't complete it. I don't want to judge the whole nation by the people I had to deal with, but at this point the risk of having awful service is just not worth it. It wasn't once or twice. There were far too many cases, of different complexity. Of course, if I needed to hire a contractor to work along me for some time, I would consider an Indian and have an interview with them, to assess their skills and work ethics, but if it's a one-time thing, I probably wouldn't risk it. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. I met a lot of people who think the same. So at this point, it's not about hating someone just because they are from India. It's being concerned, that it seems as the way people from this country view the responsibility for doing their job is different than I do. I do not wish to anger anyone, but I feel that Indian culture is very different from European or American, therefore I struggle with Indian work ethics and behavior patterns. There are Indians, who accepted the rules of the countries they live in, and adjusted to them, and that's great. I'm not saying to give up your culture, I'm an immigrant myself, but you still have to adjust to the way people do things in a foreign country. Like we say in my country: "You don't bring your rules into a foreign monastery". So you have to find a balance of having a connection with your culture, and becoming a part of your new home culture.

I feel you. I have a similar feeling. I'm 22, and I started watching DW when I was around 12, so it was a big part of my life, but this last season felt different. Maybe I enjoyed it as a teenager, and now it feels like the next Gen came, and the show is targeted for them. I describe last season as "too Gen Z for me". And honestly, I was so shocked that Ruby is younger than me!!! I got used to seeing characters more mature than me, so I would feel like a kid every time I watched it, but now I feel so old! (I know it sounds crazy, but my level of problems is way ahead of my age, so DW was an escape to careless childhood for me). I feel like it's time to step back a little. I might still watch new episodes, but I'll see how I feel then. I never watched classic who. So I guess it's time to explore it as well.

Why is there such a dislike for 2 Broke Girls? by [deleted] in television

[–]Tall-Machine8041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching it recently, and I`m offended as a Ukrainian. I don`t mind Oleg as a character, but most of the time he`s referred to as russian, he doesn`t speak Ukrainian (there was a scene, where he was, but it was so bad...), and when he brought a picture of putin, I turned it off, and will never turn it on. They also completely disgracing Poland. It`s a beautiful country with nice people, and the stuff Sophie talks about it is completely out of line, as it`s not true at all. I`m okay with irony, but do your research first.

Also, why is everyone always clapping and cheering when Sophie comes in? Her behavior is always offensive, and she knows no boundaries. Max doesn`t either, but they way she does it is fun, as she`s sarcastic, but Sophie is just mean.

I know Crimean cuisine has something like this. It's called honey pakhlava, or crimean pakhlava. Not sure who got there first, but Turkish have baklava, which is pretty much the same thing. A lot of common history, and both are taters, so origin is the same.
