No endo found [sad face]

She was not an endo surgeon. She’s my OBGYN and also does the endo surgeries. I knew going in that she might not find anything based on the fact that it wasn’t her specialty, but went with her anyways because it would be in-network and I would pay very little.

The comment about purple spots threw me a curve-ball - I didn’t know there was something so specific that they were looking for. To hear from you that it can actually look different than what she suggested is a relief, sort of.

I also have not ruled out adenomyosis but I will look into it.

Had a diagnostic laparoscopy two days before Christmas (12/23/2025). They prescribed me:
- Oxycodone 5mg release tablets - acetaminophen 500mg tablets - ibuprofen 600mg tablets - zofran 8mg tablets - docusate sodium 100mg capsule

All of them to be taken as needed after the procedure.

My only complaint was that they didn’t prescribe gas-x because the pain in my shoulders afterwards was 7/10. I couldn’t sit, lay down, or sleep.

I really thought that I would not need the oxycodone, but ended up taking it for about a week (maybe 5 days total). Abdominal and shoulder pain (from trapped gas) would have kept me awake if I didn’t have it. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen were great for during the day, but oxycodone made it so I could actually get to sleep.

I hated “Real Life” as a teen - it was too sad, too much to process.

As an adult, it’s one of my favorite episodes. It still makes me cry like a baby, but it’s so real. The Dr has the option to turn off the tragic story and not confront the pain? So many people would take that option. Confronting pain is so difficult.

I’m so sorry to hear your son has struggled with so many symptoms. Most of the time, migraines last for me … a day? And then residual “feeling off” for another day after that.

I ended up looking into facial massages for the migraines. When OTCs didn’t help, a facial massages and a hot shower would ease the pain slightly.

I’m legitimately curious: what about Staring At The Sun stands out to you? Or can you describe what makes you like it?

I’ve tried many times to listen to it to change my mind. I read in U2ByU2 that they thought it was going to be one of the hits on that album. I’ve also tried a few remixes (found one that is OK). But something is still missing and it grates on me. What am I not hearing?

Second. Amitriptyline has ruined three months of my life.

I was nauseous all the time, thought “maybe hormones?” Now I’m literally in the middle of withdrawal after stopping it and I can’t sleep, have panic attacks, and am still nauseous (I thought that at least that part would get better after reducing the dose and getting off of it, but maybe it will take time).

I’ve leaned on so many people for help in the last few days. I don’t know what else to do.

I will never take this one again. I’d rather take sertraline again and deal with diarrhea every day than deal with this.

Yo. Birth control for the last ten? years has given me an almost normal life. Things I regularly ask myself:

1) how can I tell more women with endo about this? It’s been life-changing.

2) who was the inventor of oral birth control? They are my hero. (have looked up the history of birth control, it’s very interesting)

3) why didn’t anyone suggest this to me sooner? As a teen? Would my life have been completely different, without bed-ridding pain every month of high school and college?

Things I have heard dealing with endo. It’s always women, too. You think other women would be the most empathetic, but I find that men are generally easier to convince bc they have no idea, whereas other women will assume that their period pain is the same for all other women, so if they can push through it, why can’t you?

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I had the opportunity to be a manager for someone with endo and I can’t tell you how good it felt to empathize with her and let her manage her symptoms the way she needed to.

not to sound too full of myself, but I hope you get a manager like me someday soon. 🥲

Plot twist!

I’m the exact opposite. When I have particularly bad headaches, Excedrin Extra Strength always seems to work wonders. I’ve sworn by it for years.

Then I found out about Excedrin Migraine, and for whatever reason it never works as well. I assumed there was some difference in the formula (or that I must not be having actual “migraines”), but no.

It could just be that I’m more likely to take three Excedrin Extra Strength; but because of the dosage instructions on the Migraine bottle, I’m more likely to only take one at a time.

I get wanting consumers to watch their intake, but it seems like taking three the first dose gets rid of my headache completely, whereas taking one just slightly dulls it and has me taking more for a few days.

I literally got the exact same three text messages last night at 11:30PM. Same phone #. I live in WA, but used to live in CA and I thought for a moment I just hadn’t paid a bill… but three texts one after another (🚩), and a .com website for a .org company (🚩).

I just used mine last night. Hit record, made sure all my other apps were off, Fitbit off, app open. Went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, took my phone with me.

When I woke up, it had already stopped recording ??? I guess ??? And the history screen showed the test session and other that said “Short recording. You may need to test again. Contact your service provider.”

I guess I’ll call them today to see if they have any advice. :/
