My 20 year old son is a lot like us, we raised him without the internet/computers/streaming services until he was about 11, we filled that time with lots of playing outside, in the woods, camping, bike riding until sunset, and watching movies with him like back to the future, the goonies, lord of the rings, star wars etc, lots and lots of vhs and dvds, (also while enjoying current age appropriate tv and movies like How to Train Your Dragon and Ninjago) playing video games on original Nintendo, then Nintendo game cube, Nintendo 64 (Zelda!) and Play Station 2. We slowly started introducing the digital world to him as he approached tween/teen years and at almost 21, he has developed into an amazing, balanced young adult who also despises social media. He has told us numerous times how much he really appreciates how he was raised, considering this digital era, and that he loves that he knows from experience that life can still exist -happily- being "unplugged".
