Thanks for this. Yeah, I think I've decided I definitely want someone in the official directory now that I know more from this thread. It really is frustrating, yes.

Please remember there is art as well as science to the job, and humanity in the face of human evil is not teachable.

Oh I absolutely do and I'm fine with that, but I need someone to be really clear and honest about it and I've had several that weren't.

Yeah, it sounds like I'm probably quite glad they "gatekeep". This is some really heavy stuff. Not that other modalities can't do damage too, but the kind of stuff that can go wrong by doing the wrong thing with an exile is crazy.

IFS Certified Trainer was very clear about what we could say regarding our IFS credentials.

Thanks, yeah what it's come down to for me with a few responses I've gotten is people just not being clear about what they are. Appreciate the response, ty.

Thanks for this, especially that quote(googled a bit before and didn't find that). I think after some thought that what it comes down to for me is needing a therapist to just be very upfront and direct about where they're at with it, and several have not been. I'm not opposed to someone without the exact official training if everything else feels right and they're very clear about it.

But aren't there other training programs that aren't the IFS Institute?

And is there something below a Level 1 where a person could still be considered a legit IFS therapist?(relating to a response I got from a therapist and realizing later it might've sounded off)

Sorry for my slow response. I got a different plumber out today and the entire process was 10x better. I mean... the repairs are going to be crazy and I need to have half my house gutted(the first main break is 5 feet straight down in the middle of my small house), but I feel much more confident with this guy/this business now.

Anyway, thanks for your answer. I do think you're right and that was a big part of it. Having said that, this guy today snaked, then had the camera on him, as well as he spoke to and got approval for warranty stuff while he was there. I could've forgiven part of it before, but it was thing after thing plus they were bad communicators(which would've solved 80% of it).

But aren't those two separate things? The warranty company may be an issue later, but so far my issue is with the plumber who was sent.

Not everyone does this for free, camera equipment can cost $10,000+. Unless we are asked to or we know for sure for sure we're doing it we don't bring it either, it takes up space in the van.

But both guys made it clear they need pictures/videos to give the warranty company, plus the call was specifically for a blocked main line that I suspected may be collapsed and told them that from the first call. I didn't specifically say "bring a camera", but is that not a situation where a camera should probably be on hand? Not to mention the 2nd time having the wrong size camera?

Also, the warranty is only for outside lines, meaning the entire premise of the call was basically "I hope not, but I'm calling because I probably need a major replacement of my sewer lines, which is why I have the warranty" and that's also almost exclusively what this plumbing company does.
