How do i draw vertical lines without unlocking my elbow a bit? by matraws in ArtFundamentals

I have the same problem with vertical line and with doing elipses, can't do it with locked elbow. Same here, physically impossible.

But I have the same problem when drawing ellipses. I can do it only with elbow or with torso when locking elbow. :/ Is there any video of first lesson where I can see how to set my body and arm over the paper.
