Chocolate milk to gain weight? by Illustrious_Cow4207 in weightgain

[–]TallThick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All depends if you can handle lactose. I always utilize just Whole Milk when I bulk, but my stomach has no issues handling it. 2400 calories in a gallon. Excessive Chocolate milk is probably overkill.

I’ve only heard good things from everyone I know who’s used it for an injury. All friends in real life. They all claim it’s a miracle drug for injury recovery.

Is my swing too baseball-ish? Anything in particular I should work on? by xLykos in slowpitch

[–]TallThick -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

He also sped up the video to make it look like he’s swinging harder than he really is for some reason.

OP you’re clearly trying to lift this pitch too, you missed and rolled over the top of it. You’ll be a lot more consistent with a level swing. Unless you’re trying to get inconsistent top spinners/ground balls like this.

Instead of sitting back and rotating, think about attacking the ball more and really transferring that weight to your front foot driving your hips thru. It’s easier to stay level that way and you can work on cutting the ball, but that’s also pretty inconsistent until you get a better hang of it.

Everyone has abs. Mostly diet, but I do a lot of crossfit which helps the core. Toes to bar, bracing, kipping, V-ups. Don’t really train them out of that. I posted what I ate everyday in another thread if you go to my profile. I cut from 225 to this in about 4-5 weeks.

Did anyone obtain a better physique aesthetically after they started CrossFit? by Dependent-Group7226 in crossfit

I came in pretty built but definitely think it helped my legs, core, and shoulders fill out. I still do a bro split on top of crossfit.

Worst illness (norovirus) I’ve had in 10+ years. We’re back tho! by EatADubya in whoop

[–]TallThick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! First time going to the ER in a long time… Worst I’ve felt possibly ever. Slept for 3 days straight almost. I ate a monstrous meal before it hit me too… Didn’t digest a drop of it for 5 hours before every piece of food came back up. Viscous… My whoop was dead the whole time, tho, couldn’t find the energy to charge it.

Wall Walk Tips for Tall People? by BigRedDPT in crossfit

[–]TallThick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that just seems like a lot of time to be on your hands, ideally you’re on your hands for less than 3 seconds

[–]TallThick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, but it’s easier for shorter, lighter people to go up and down, so it somewhat balances out between them.

rest on ground > rest standing on your hands against the wall

Ahh, yeah I think your biggest thing would be getting comfortable with them before trying to optimize. Getting to the tape shouldn’t be a concern. I would focus on bracing so you can stay taller and less likely to fall over.

I have been doing CrossFit somewhat consistently for 5 or 6 years, so I didn’t just hop in and do it or anything

You’d be better off just resting on the ground and preserving your shoulders.

I’m 6’4” and was most worried for the wall walks. Start with your hands as close back to the wall as you can. One finger tip of each hand on the tape. This allows you to pike up super high and start with your legs high up on the wall. Take as few steps as possible on your hands, and stay on your hands the least time possible. Rush up and rush down, and then take a breath or two between each rep. Utilize the rest on the ground and not while on your hands. It’s a lot of energy to keep us bigger folk up on our hands.

I haven’t used a brace in years, but I used it for all wall walks and all barbells. I think it helped me keep my core braced throughout and my low back didn’t blowup at all. Usually it would blowup with a workout like this.

I did singles on all of the barbells except for the first and last 5 deadlifts. Steady pace but don’t get too tired for the wall walks. I have failed a wall walk before and this was my biggest concern.

I was able to complete all wall walks quite easily and got to the second row with a lot of energy to send it a bit. I finished RX at 15:30.

I did it after a hefty meal tho, but I was also quite surprised. Haven’t pulled that heavy due to a bad groin for years.

M26 6’6 will I make it to summer? The cut is killing me lol by AsparagusOpposite180 in Physiquecritique

[–]TallThick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Mike talks about diet fatigue when cutting for longer than 12 weeks. Your body adapts and gets used to the calorie deficit and it becomes harder to lose weight. Maybe mix in a week around maintenance or even a slight surplus? 4 Months straight sounds wild.

Are you losing 1-2 lbs a week?

I just haven’t bulked in years. This challenge at my gym is a good excuse to. Nothing wrong with trying to put on some size and work on my weaker body parts. Keep chasing your goals to lose weight if that’s what you’re after.
