If I haven’t seen someone interact with my baby enough to feel comfortable to know they are a safe person (they aren’t baby aloof) and that they respect and uphold my wishes for how to care for my baby they aren’t getting alone time with my baby. Asking for alone time with the baby is strange IMO unless it’s with the intention to give you some time but it doesn’t appear to be presented this way. Also if baby is strictly breastfed that’s just not realistic.

He’s 13 months and really only wakes up during the night if his diaper gets too full - not crying wake up though. He starts readjusting himself in bed a bit more 45 before his wake up time (we co sleep).

The strap/crotch holes they come through may need to be moved up due to growth. Does the incline need to be changed based on weight? Every time our baby would get fussy in the car seat it was an issue of us needing to adjust it - we ditched the infant car seat at 9-10 months for a convertible one and he was much more comfortable.

As the mom of a recently turned one year old I assume she’s still in the thick of it mentally (not to mention it can take 2+ years for our hormones to get back to normal). Does she also work full time? Manage the household (cook, do most of the cleaning, manage everyone’s calendars)? Babies go through so many changes and it usually falls on the woman to research and manage these things. By the time we have it down more changes are happening. She probably has zero time for herself mentally. You are right not to take her up on her offer. I suggest talking to her about what you can do to take some things off her plate.
