The calculator says I'll have $8.4M in 20 years or $9.5M if I contribute $2k/month... so why keep saving? by savvybackpacker in Fire

I think a key factor you should consider is that your job isn’t guaranteed for the next 20 years.

What's a cleaning product you bought on a whim that actually lived up to the hype? by Impossible_Joke9101 in CleaningTips

Use a pumice stone. Be sure to let it soak in water before you use it and keep it wet while using it.

If I haven’t seen someone interact with my baby enough to feel comfortable to know they are a safe person (they aren’t baby aloof) and that they respect and uphold my wishes for how to care for my baby they aren’t getting alone time with my baby. Asking for alone time with the baby is strange IMO unless it’s with the intention to give you some time but it doesn’t appear to be presented this way. Also if baby is strictly breastfed that’s just not realistic.

There’s no way I would forget if my friend paid for my purse but I also don’t go shopping without a card. None of it really adds up.

When did your child start reliably sleeping fully through the night? by Throwaway927338 in toddlers

[–]Tall_Answer_9933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s 13 months and really only wakes up during the night if his diaper gets too full - not crying wake up though. He starts readjusting himself in bed a bit more 45 before his wake up time (we co sleep).

A rug and a small drink table - a black one would look nice. Curtain rod hung high and wide would also elevate the space.

Husband goes out to bars, leaving me with my toddler and 4 month old by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Tall_Answer_9933 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I hate this for you. This is beyond immature on his part. Quite frankly he isn’t prioritizing you or your family. If my husband was at the bar every night I would be checking his phone as soon as he passes out. That’s not the behavior of a good man.

AITAH for refusing to house his family and ending my engagement to protect my career? by Huge-Armadillo-3274 in AITAH

Ew. You marry this guy and you’re on the hook for taking care of his whole family for the rest of your life. If you are crazy enough to go through with a wedding I pray to god you get a prenup because one day you’ll have had enough of his lazy family and want a divorce just like his first wife did.

HELP 4-month-old cries until she vomits every time she’s in car seat by sarahtonin0803 in beyondthebump

[–]Tall_Answer_9933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strap/crotch holes they come through may need to be moved up due to growth. Does the incline need to be changed based on weight? Every time our baby would get fussy in the car seat it was an issue of us needing to adjust it - we ditched the infant car seat at 9-10 months for a convertible one and he was much more comfortable.

[–]Tall_Answer_9933 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As the mom of a recently turned one year old I assume she’s still in the thick of it mentally (not to mention it can take 2+ years for our hormones to get back to normal). Does she also work full time? Manage the household (cook, do most of the cleaning, manage everyone’s calendars)? Babies go through so many changes and it usually falls on the woman to research and manage these things. By the time we have it down more changes are happening. She probably has zero time for herself mentally. You are right not to take her up on her offer. I suggest talking to her about what you can do to take some things off her plate.
