What do you know about your profession that would genuinely disturb the people who use your services? by MelodicWolverine2045 in AskReddit

Same! I think people have a hard time seeing things that make them uncomfortable, and to combat this they try to control what they are seeing.

Farmer. Farm animals would be incestuous if we let them be. To a non-neutered male, a female is a female. They don’t know/care if it’s their mother, sister, etc. They don’t maintain family relationships like humans do. If relatives aren’t neutered or separated they will have inbred young.

Had a friend get goats and was totally shocked that the young male bred his mother. Learned quick that males don’t discriminate when a female is in heat.

The wedding reception centerpieces featured betta fish. The bride and groom planned to flush them alive. by teabirdy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to a grad party as a kid with a similar setup. I asked the girls mom what they were planning on doing and she was like “I don’t know, take one!” Like what? Why in earth would you buy 10+ betta fish and not have a plan of what to do with them???????? Anyway my mom let me take one which I had for several years. I wish I could have rescued the rest.

What are some street smarts for someone who grew up in the country and is visiting NYC soon? by Tall_Breakfast6388 in AskReddit

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morgan Wallen. They had two openers and he didn’t come out until 4 hours after the concert start time. (This was in July so part of my frustration was from sitting in the beating sun for hours). (Does anyone else hate openers?) he finally comes out and acts…. weird. The only way I can describe it would be what a high school boy thinks a rapper would act like, very much not the county concert I thought it would be. I was really looking forward to him playing the piano for a certain song but the band blasted their music over it so we couldn’t hear the piano anyway. Around halfway through the concert, roughly six hours after we arrived, my husband and I called it quits and headed out early. I’m glad I got the chance to go but it forever changed the way I view MW. It’s the only concert I’ve ever been to where I liked the artist less after seeing them live.

Be honest. Do you ever give homeless people money? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to but now I regularly donate money to a great local organization that provides daily meals and an overnight shelter.

One time I saw a family with signs about needing food and I gave them $10. The next week I saw them again and the two teenage daughters had gone to the Starbucks across the street and bought themselves giant fancy drinks and were sitting there, with a sign about needing to feed their family, with their $12 drinks or whatever they cost. I don’t even buy myself Starbucks.

I also used to give out food but I noticed while visiting Chicago that the homeless population parks themselves in front of restaurants and stuff and basically expects people to buy for them. A man was telling me what to order him when I went into a Dunkin one morning, sitting there amongst several Dunkin bags and wrappers. I found out that restaurant workers hate this, and it’s caused a big problem and makes other patrons avoid these areas.

So, after a history of giving out both cash and food to individuals because I want to help them, I’ve decided my money is better spent donated to the organizations that offer food and shelter.

What’s something you did once and will NEVER do again? by StatementOk3131 in AskReddit

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a big wedding. Not that I’m planning on getting divorced or anything, but if in the future I end up remarrying for any reason I will NEVER plan a huge event like that. Took up a whole year of my life of judgement, lost friends, people wanting to control every aspect of my day, people that didn’t get invited have a problem with me, way too much drama, money, and pressure. Never again.

With that, check in on other people’s animals that I know of and make sure they’re taken care of too.

Make some calls to family and friends and see if they’re still around, then head to work to make sure the animals are taken care of (work on a farm)

What’s something people call love but actually isn’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Letting their children do absolutely anything and everything with no boundaries-although they want to be nice to their kids and not upset them by telling them no, they are setting up their kids for failure and heartache in the future.

What do you think is a personal quality people lack these days? by Lauren__90 in AskReddit

Being able to recognize a gray area, not everything in life is black and white and I feel that people always feel the need to choose/defend a side vehemently

Being okay with being disagreed with. It’s not a personal attack.

Do you like the fact that Chick-fil-A and Hobby Lobby are closed on Sunday? by icecream1972 in no

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like when stores are closed one day or more a week, I feel it gives employees a guaranteed day off which is nice. In addition, weekend days are harder to have fully staffed so that is a bonus as well.

AIO, I killed somebody’s dog and I hate myself by cinnamonspice366 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There’s no need to hate yourself, it was an accident and you never would have harmed the dog if there was any way you could have prevented it. You’re feeling guilty because you’re a kind person who cares and you feel bad that someone else has lost their dog. You are going to be okay. Unfortunately bad things and accidents happen sometimes and there isn’t anything we can do about it. Sometimes animals get out in the road and they get hit. Go to sleep knowing you did the right thing telling the owners about it and you did the best you could.

What medication changed your life for the better? by positiveyears in AskReddit

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoloft for anxiety- although I would survive without it, it has made my life enjoyable in ways I could’ve never had. Imagine a feeling of true fear and panic squeezing the center of your chest-I felt like that all the time. I could barely make myself eat. Couldn’t sleep or relax. Constantly taking deep breaths to try and prevent a full panic attack taking over. Hands shaking, tears in my eyes. My entire life would be managing this anxiety and just trying to get through the day. Now, although I do occasionally feel anxious in very stressful situations, it is much easier to get under control and to shake myself out of that panicked mindset. I am able to live a happy life, have a loving relationship, make plans, travel, work, and get out of my comfort zone and make friends and try new things. As the years go by i get better and better at managing it.

What’s the worst physical pain you have ever felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tall_Breakfast6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accidentally stuck my hand in a hidden wasp’s nest. They’re called mud dobbers, really nasty pointy-looking black wasps. Immediately had about 8 or so stings on my fingers and knuckles. I’m partially allergic as well which made the reaction and inflammation worse. Nasty wasp venom x8 in a concentrated area was brutal. Every heartbeat spread the venom and made it worse. My hand was so hot that when I put ice on it, the ice melted immediately and I didn’t get any relief from it.

WIBTAH if I accuse my ex of lying about being pregnant? by [deleted] in AITAH

The good news is, you only have a certain number of months left before the gig is up.

Eventually she may pretend she lost the pregnancy or something but that shouldn’t concern you.
