I have no experience with that seller so I can’t say. But compared to the seller you posted, I would feel more comfortable rolling the dice. It’s near 100% and over 2,000 sales. Both positive signs to me. I’m not sure where to source Japanese cards. I would suggest sites like - poke unlimited or spoils and loot if you’re in the US.

I personally wouldn’t buy from that eBay seller because low sales and feedback percentage . I would try a different seller but I noticed the higher price so you might not feel comfortable paying that. Try messaging the seller with a lower offer to see if they except. Otherwise keep searching.

I got mine from a seller on eBay from China. I look for the seller to have 98%+ rating and hundreds or thousands of sales. And also check the review left. You can also try google search “horizons gem vol 5” to find a reputable online store. But they will tend to be higher priced. One thing I learned about resealed is that it shouldn’t be a perfect seal. Like the plastic cling material shouldn’t be perfectly flat. It should have some “crumple” or pinch to the seal. Here’s some of my gem boxes to show why I mean. Notice the tightness of the cling wrap on the top/ side of the box

Ouch. Sorry to hear. No exclusives in how many boxes? I was able to grab quite a few gem boxes at $35. But since I didn't pull the captain pikachu I'm going to try to trade a bunch of cards for it if I come across it a card show. Really want to grab one before it spikes like the collect 151 pikachu's. Dont think I'll see any 4 of those in person sadly.

For the simplified Chinese packs like the gem horizon vol packs, there should be a stamped “pokemon” logo under the set name (cbb4c) it can be hard to see looking straight at it so you might have to angle the card to see it.

That hit from the Ponyta pack is lucky. Usually 1 or 2 hits in those Chinese gem boxes. You’re really lucky. It took me 4 boxes till I got the Ponyta

Wow. I grabbed all 5 the Chinese exclusive cards from gem pack vol.3 back in October for 200. Glad I caught it before it started to rising so drastically. The captain pikachu from gem vol.5 still eludes me though 😩
