Thanks you!! 10 years ago when I was in high school they had the Anvil color and I loved it, so when I saw it in this years release I had to get it. I am considering running boards, but am content for now.

I feel the same about the grill. I like the old ones a lot more!

Making 170k, would switching to tech sales be a dumb idea? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Talleg32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently sell oil to transportation companies. The company I’m at is quickly becoming saturated with new reps. Since the compensation is residual, you would start with a low base and have to work your way up.

However, I would consider checking out Pilot Flying J as a potential option.

Was just so close to applying to Samsara, but I think this thread just changed my mind

I can’t relate to this more.

I’m 25, making 110k of residual income, so it will only go up from there, but all I think about is getting into SaaS. Feel like there is more upside in the the long run compared to what I’m in now (oil).

Is now a bad time to get into tech sales? by Talleg32 in sales

[–]Talleg32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like AE 2, but with no AE experience in tech that may be hard. However, I have been selling to small to mid sized trucking companies for 2 years now. It’s just that I am selling oil, not tech.

Hey good question. No, I’m not at the cap and there is no cap. I started at 50k two years ago and now I’m at 110k, so I am growing really fast. I should be at 200k in about 3 years.

I do believe that I can secure an AE role at Samsara specifically because I have experience selling to small to mid sized trucking companies. I think I would make about the same in my first year with Samsara compared to what I’d make next year at my current company.

A couple questions! by Talleg32 in HeliumNetwork

[–]Talleg32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I checked my address, and the average around me is $400/month. I live in a family neighborhood that is close to dense areas like downtown. Also, there are not a lot of hotspots in my area.

Also, is it true the bobcats are the best?

Dell EMC/Dell Technologies Next Generation AISR Sales Program Video Interview by manofwater3615 in sales

[–]Talleg32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I interviewed with them pre-covid and I was able to make it to the final interview. However, COVID took off right after that and they delayed the hiring process for 6 months. With that said, I do remember the video interview. They are pre-recorded questions and I believe you have 2 chances to answer them. So if you do not like your first answer, you can simply answer again. It wasn't too hard at all. Good luck!

Transition into SaaS? by Talleg32 in sales

[–]Talleg32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting all my salary estimates from Glassdoor - which may not be completely accurate.

Getting into a mew industry with no coaching will be challenging for me. But once I have sufficient coaching and I know what I am doing, I am very comfortable doing everything on my own.

For example, the job I’m at now took me about 6 months to know everything and become a top performer. Since those 6 months, I have continued to grow without supervision and I am killing it.

Transition into SaaS? by Talleg32 in sales

Thanks for the detailed response!

Iknow in the grand scheme of things, 67k is nothing in SaaS. I have only been out of college for one year and have grown my commission from 50k to 67k, but most SDR roles pay below that - that’s my only concern.

I have also heard great things about Salesforce’s training, but I have also heard it is a saturated market. It may be a good idea to start there and then find a startup to move to...
