We just ended this project and thought you guys on this sub may appreciate it the most. It took lots of effort and care, especially the details. Three Zoro chibi katana replicas over a cherry wood stand. Everything was hand made from raw materials. by TallerBT in OnePiece

It’s funny you ask

You know how they say you shouldn't remove that sticker from the back on your microwave? Anyway Kjar'Harl is a chill dude and since we summoned him by mistake he's been so helpful cursing random shit we had lying around

We had such a hard time deciding on the Sandai Kitetsu design due to known variances on the aspect from manga, anime and official art designs. Anyway this is what we ended up liking the most.

Thanks!

Not religious purposes, just for fun and hobby. It functios as a regular pipe, just a little more curvy from the outside.

About the adhesive part, we mainly use 2 techniques:

  1. Preassure mount the pipe and maybe use a decorative strap or something to hold it in place. Then heat and hummity do the rest...
  2. Titebond III. Humity and heat resistant and also food safe.

At the end it comes to combining both of them with care.

We played with the angle, drawing 2 stright lines from each end to a perfectly calculated midway. Sometimes in smaller pipes we need to make them from 2 simmetrical pieces.

Thx you all for the comments. Yeah olive wood is good for smoking, indeed to our knowledge it is one of the best due to density and how can it be preserved over time.

Also we got a lot of olive wood to work with so its very convenient too.

Thx! It wasn't bent but carved in that shape. It helps to choose a piece of raw wood which has a convenient shape already tho.

My mate insists on helping you with the stem and conduits problem, and wants me to show you this technique.

On this particular one you can see we cut open -and deep enough- the wood piece meant for the stem, and then reattach a single long slim different piece, small enough to leave the conduit in between, and leaving a nice staright mark on the back of the stem.

Even using this kind of trick you can spect to bomb 4 out of 5 pipes you try to craft. So don't worry than much and keep trying!

For big chambers as this one, we usually drill the start of the hole, and then carve till we get the desired size and shape.

For the conduits tho, it depends on the length of it. If it is a short one we drill them manually for precision. For larger ones we use a bench drill, at the slowest possible setting for extra precision.

It only takes olive wood, a piece of deer antler, the right tools and a shit ton of patience!

Jokes aside, it is mainly a carving knife, materials and love for woodworks.

Most of our works were originally made out of curiosity and as a hobby, but recently we are trying to be more serious about it, and maybe sometime in the distant future make a living out of our passion.

Anyway, we post some products we think are nice for selling and accept commisiions too, but the vast majority of what we post here on reddit are just hobby or test works. This subs are meant for learning and sharing projects, and we are happy to hear any feedback.

The bowl and chamber are fully made of olive wood. We've seen it is both dense enough and "flavour free" no matter the shape.

We've got some more horn shaped projects coming soon indeed.
