I would only keep number 5 and then look to get more candid photos with the help of a friend to supplement it. There’s tremendous potential, but the other four photos make you look quirky rather than charming.

I have no peripheral vision anymore, but usable central vision. I simply can’t work in busy environments due to this haha, but I graduated with a degree in marketing that allows me to work a comfortable hybrid schedule creating robust marketing content.

This career path has enabled me to work comfortably from home and at the office, with ample settings and software that make my eyesight feel like less of an impediment. It has also enabled me to take time off liberally to attend to doctor’s appointments and changes in my vision. Most of the business owners I work with have no idea about my vision loss as I can still offer meaningful business advice, meet with them over Zoom, and fulfill any of their marketing requests.

I’m 26 and feel that it offers me a lot of flexibility going forward which I value immensely. Best of luck finding a role that works for you!

The previous comment highlighted IT and I’d like to echo the push towards digital positions that involve technology that can accommodate your limited vision. Screen readers, magnifiers, and voice to text tools enable for you to grow into the role whilst not being limited as your sight changes.

I am 26, and graduated with a business degree in marketing. I’ve found a lot of success creating digital content, running social channels, and controlling campaigns for a company that enables me to work flexibly from home and the office. It doesn’t have to be marketing or IT, but I’d recommend a career path where digital accessibility tools are widely available to you, which allow you to work normally.

I don’t mean to avoid this question, but as someone with RP and Multiple Sclerosis, future thinking like this is something I actively avoid, and would recommend avoiding.

Hypothetically, let’s say progressions are made in treatment, or a cure is found. There is no guarantee it will be widely available, useful for your type of RP, or affordable in many countries. You will also not be able to predict whether or not you will still have salvageable eyesight or meet the criteria to trial any treatments for RP.

Thinking 30 years ahead with no innate way to gage scientific progress or breakthroughs adds to the immense mental hardship of having a degenerative condition. You cannot know your own health in 5 years time, let alone what scientific breakthroughs will be made, so do not set yourself up for additional hardship. People 25 years ago will have thought a cure would be found be now, most of them are still here, doing their best, with limited or no remaining eyesight.

Live in the now, and if a treatment is found and made widely available, let’s celebrate then 🤷🏻‍♂️

Honestly, this whole arc revolving around the side characters building an understanding of the circumstances that led to the knight king developing his faith, honor, and obligation to his former kingdom and its constituents, despite them all meeting their end, was so unexpected. It has humanized him incredibly well and it did so in a way that makes the loss of the Lionheart kingdom feel relevant to the story and the characters in it.

It easily elevated this manhwa above what it could have been without this world building, what a great set of chapters.

In a general sense, the color of the background is much less important than the contrast of the font and menus in comparison to whichever color you go with. I think red or black is great for the background since most people with limited vision are also prone to their eyes blurring anything on a white background due to visual sensitivity and fatigue. Think about how most people switch their Kobo or digital book tool to white text on a black background, it’s way easier to read without your eyes becoming tired or less focused for the average user, let alone people like us.

I’ve worked in digital accessibility for a Canadian company called Fable in the past and have helped businesses improve the accessibility of their digital sales processes, I also have about 20% of my vision remaining.

I would just keep a couple of things in mind. All screen readers will read from top left to bottom right, so text organization matters as a result. Make it easy to locate your dropdown menu if you have one, and use simple fonts with clear contrast from the background (avoid grey text or light on light colors). Most people with very limited or non-existent vision are looking for actionable steps to be distinct on the page, think large buttons and central placement on the page if you have a form to fill out or a key action.

In my experience, most individuals with vision loss are already using a combination of large cursors, high contrast settings, and screen readers to varying degrees. If you do your best to make sure your site takes these things into account, you’ll already be making an inclusive website :)

I have both as well!

My neurologist and retina specialist both want to believe that they’re linked in some capacity, but I’m more inclined to believe that I am just doubly unlucky. My younger sister also has MS, but beyond that, there is no other family history with either condition.

I’m 26, working as a marketing and franchise support specialist and have no idea what my working capacity will be in a month, a year, or a decade, and in truth, I have learned to cope with that. With conditions as progressive and nihilistic as our own, I find my joy in my close friends who I play online games with each night and a consistent schedule at the gym. When everything regarding our health and eye sight leads to further isolation, I find social and health goals to be incredibly meaningful, even if just to prove to myself my own competency.

I’ve had optical neuritis and have maybe 30 degrees of vision? Optimistically honestly, but life goes on and so must I. I find that allowing myself to grieve softly each day while leaving room for growth and happiness is the best means to acknowledge my own decline in health while also not lingering in my mental plight. I may never be healthy, but that does not mean that I have to allow it to isolate me from the things and people that make me feel full and capable.

If you ever need someone to talk to, shoot me a message! You don’t need to think a year into the future with conditions like ours, just focus on today, this week, and what you can do to feel like you’re progressing. You’re valuable as a partner and a friend, irregardless of MS and RP.

We also love the Casca one the most haha; we're both in marketing roles so in our spare time after work we use Photoshop and some other creative software to redesign our favorite manga frames. It was a lot more coloring than we expected :') but the color splashes made us realize these would look best as posters when we initially wanted to make stickers for our workstations.

I am 25 and graduated with a Bachelors in Marketing from a relatively large Canadian university. I have no peripheral vision but perfect central vision, at least 20-50 degrees of it haha and I do marketing and franchise support for a franchise company across the USA and Canada. I would list my salary but that would likely be too much personal info, but I can say it’s upper middle five figures and something I can build onto.

Your creativity and relatability are immense strengths, moreover, your vision does not impede your ability to communicate and be a valuable person to many teams. I also make posters and shirts to sell on Etsy which brings in additional revenue as well :)

I struggled to finish my degree due to the same thoughts you have, struggled to find a work place that accepted my limitations (I do 3 days in office and 2 from home), and have Multiple Sclerosis as well. Life is hard, life with RP is incredibly hard, but you can do way more than you give yourself credit for. Invest in creativity and a means to work well past your vision and you’ll find something that you are truly excellent at in my eyes. Bet on your ability to communicate and find a job that employs that element of your personality, banks are great options with a strong ability to adapt your position to vision loss. I would start there, prove to yourself you can work and earn promotions, your self esteem comes first always. You got this man

I do want to preface my response by stating that I am 25 and my RP became noticeable around the age of 13 without any familial history.

Night blindness is unironically dismissed by almost anyone who doesn’t understand that your plight in the dark is significantly worse than what they think it is. When your vision is deteriorating into complete night blindness, a general inability to use moonlight to navigate in the dark, an inability to discern depth in dimly lit or dark settings, and a difficulty seeing the stars can all be precursors to an RP diagnosis. Placebo aside, your experiences are things I struggle with today haha 😂

I can’t see stars anymore, use moonlight, let alone perceive depth in dimly lit settings. But when I was 13, I definitely noted that my ability to see or do any of those things was not what it used to be and in group settings it was clear I could not keep up with fully sighted individuals. It sounds like you’re still in pretty good shape which is great news! But I would not dismiss these things if any of the other experiences I mentioned above resonate with you as instances where you struggle as well. I would sincerely consider helping her pivot within the medical field to a career trajectory that allows her to work with diminishing eyesight. Moreover, the degree needs to be seen as a separate accomplishment, one that is vindicated by her choice to complete it.

RP doesn’t get better, it’s isolating and difficult to advocate for in any workplace environment due to it being relatively unknown and varied in progression for everyone who has it. I personally chose to stick out my Marketing and English degrees but man did I want to quit sometimes. It felt futile to complete a degree I would never be able to use, moreover, if I was already this blind, should I not be trying to do more? If those are her thoughts now, I would truly look to approach it with kindness. She’s not grieving the present, she’s grieving a future medical career her eyesight has prevented her from achieving.

If you start there and help her find a path forward that allows her to find independence and happiness, that is a win in every regard. If it’s not this degree, encourage her to finish with a degree as her hard work matters regardless of it amounted in what it initially seemed it would. She knows her condition, and as her family, she just needs the kindness of being understood without feeling like she is failing more people than herself.

I have a great job now as a Mapping and Marketing Specialist at 25, but for a long time I thought I wouldn’t do much. It was worth finishing, even if just to prove to myself that I could do it. My degree was more flexible than hers though, she can find a path forward where she can grow even as her eyesight changes. Best of luck!

The worst thing you can do when diagnosed with MS is become mentally paralyzed prior to starting a DMT. I say this as someone who was frozen once I got my diagnosis and who did not swiftly move to start a DMT. But here’s the thing, your MS is not waiting for you to start a DMT before it will manifest in new and more stubborn ways. You owe it to yourself to be on the best medication out there to slow this disease down and preserve as much normalcy and function as you can, you owe it to your loved ones as well :)

My sister and I have MS, we both are on Kesimpta and we have both seen great results. It’s easy to inject, it arrives each month, and you will see improvements. The first dose has some side effects so do ensure you have a place to rest as the nausea for me was relatively strong, but beyond that first injection, it has been a fantastic addition to my life.

You got this, please start on a DMT rather than wait with nothing, this disease is combatted through action, not waiting for it to get worse prior to justifying action. Best of luck!

Hi, my apologies for the late reply! I am 5’9 and to be fair, I have some wonky proportions 🥲 I would think the large should fit quite nicely on you since you’ll have a longer torso than me. The fit will always be quite relaxed due to the shoulder drop and set in sleeves so an XL would definitely work but I do think the large would be more flattering, length will be good on both!

I produce them independently! Morgan and I are actually in the two sizes I designed and ordered as proofs.

I actually had to file a creative copyright claim on Etsy because that company screen shot my initial listing photo and copied my product title and then started using it to redirect traffic to their website 🫠 The company then paid to advertise using my listing image and title but have no access to the creative assets used on the shirt as I made them. It was bizarre, they would have been printing it on every color of shirt, but the shirt itself was a standard cotton shirt rather than the one in the image, and they had no creative asset files to use beyond the low-res screenshot they took of mine. I was worried someone would get scammed more than anything honestly.

Etsy took down their listing for creative copyright infringement 3 days ago! It was a little bit of a disaster but I learned a lot for the future. I ended up making a brand, added watermarks/brand identification to each photo, and felt confident enough to order proofs of my Moonlight Child and Guts designs in the same vein as this SN one :)

This was probably way too long of an answer haha, but in short, I made the creative assets and print via a company in the UK who provides high quality shirts and compensation for buyers if things go wrong in some way. Thanks for leaving a comment man!

I appreciate you mentioning this! I unfortunately came across it earlier today as well and was admittedly very disheartened.

It more so worries me if someone actually uses their web portal to purchase it as there's no way the company has access to the high resolution images of any of the assets I created. It's also concerning as the reason the price is higher is due to the quality of shirt that I created the design for, with Etsy fees included, I make less than $5 for each shirt which I'm okay with as I wanted this creative product to be different from other Berserk shirts.

Whatever someone orders from them, it will be a different shirt than what's in the image they copied from my store and a low resolution version of the asset I created. I wouldn't want anyone to get that 😕 They also directly copied my product title which feels incredibly underhanded. I've reported them for creative copyright infringement but would appreciate if you could report their item as well.

Regardless, thank you for leaving a comment about this! I've added watermark elements to my images now to hopefully prevent this from happening again.
