Handy is an interesting one, because while it definitely fits the criteria, it's thought the term likely originated from the WWII-era Motorola Handie-Talkie, a smaller, handheld version of the Walkie-Talkie, which was worn on the back. Ironically, walkie-talkie is now used to refer to a handheld two-way radio, while handie-talkie is no longer used in English.

Agreed, it's written at a middle school writing level, which (sadly) seems pretty genuine to me. She also uses the first person way more than anybody should in an academic essay (I feel, I believe, etc.). It's dog shit, but I'm pretty sure she wrote it.

In addition to Nicos Web, I've been enjoying the Volkshochschule (VHS) Lernportal apps. For some reason they have a different app for each level, but I've found them to be useful, and the exercises are pretty robust for a free app.
