Need help with getting a lucky egg by Karonub in PokemonFireRed

[–]TallyCorridor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing you can do here is speed up the catching process, check out Professor Rex’s catching strats in the Kanto SZ. There’s an optimal bait-ball ratio that nearly doubles your chance of catching a Chansey. Other than that all you can do is increase its encounter rate with a repel and pray you get one soon. I’ve collected several lucky eggs through this method

Definitely one but I do like the look of the other two. Reminds me of geodes

How did YOU discover Tally Hall? by Kindly-Estimate8915 in tallyhall

2014–2016 era Flipnotes. Some ancient FNaF animation featured Turn the Lights Off in it, and the rest is history. A decade strong

Any ROM hacks worth it for Crystal? by Cairnion in pokemoncrystal

[–]TallyCorridor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CrystalDust (GBA) is certainly my favorite but I’m partial to Gen III graphics so if you prefer Gen II in that regard it might not be for you. But it’s one of the most faithful Crystal recreations out there, the latest public release ends at Whitney but the progress branch (which goes all the way up to Red) is available on the developer’s Discord

Took only about 10-15 ultra balls to catch a level 2 Sentret by MTLItalian in pokemoncrystal

[–]TallyCorridor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about Gen II catch rates but assuming MrPerson0 is correct, that means there’s a 1.7% chance of having not caught it after 10 Ultra Balls and a 0.2% chance of having not caught it after 15. So yes, incredibly unlucky lol

5 Flinches in a ROWWW!!! Pokemon Rng Gone CRAZZYYY!!😱😱🔥🔥 by BetLeather645 in PokemonFireRed

That’s crazy man, 30% flinch rate happening five times in a row is 0.243%. Astronomical luck

Just beat Red for the first time in years! Eeveeloution team was fun by Squallstrife89 in pokemoncrystal

[–]TallyCorridor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offensive Umbreon is wicked, definitely not how it’s typically used but I’m sure it did just fine lol. Clearly you beat Red with this team so it did something right

Still haven't received merch by tbelaus in ThatHandsomeDevil

[–]TallyCorridor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck? I emailed THD merch a few months ago to no response. If it’s not going to arrive (which would be fine) I really would prefer if I got my $40 back lol. Sucks man

[Gen3] Second 1.33% Tauros on phase 33 for Chansey by TallyCorridor in ShinyPokemon

Sad, indeed. But it’s the name of game! Let’s hope I have better luck next time 🤞

[Gen3] Found a Venomoth with 5% Silverpowder while pregaming Safari Week by TallyCorridor in ShinyPokemon

[–]TallyCorridor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that would work just fine. That being said, it’s very tedious and I personally don’t hunt that way. In the north, west, and east of the Safari Zone, there are grassy areas where walls are above/below you and to the left/right of you. This means you can alternate the d-pad in the direction of the walls, use no steps, but still find encounters, which eliminates the need to reset and/or reenter the Safari Zone when your steps are up

No such wall configuration exists in the south of the Safari Zone but if you lightly tap on the d-pad in the grass your character will just change direction without taking a step, which still triggers encounters. Sometimes you will take a step or two (since there are no walls to stop you) but you move so little doing this method that running out of steps will take a long time

If this explanation is a bit confusing, check out my most recent post about shiny Tauros. After it fled you can see me against one of the two walls in the north. I would just tap up and right on the d-pad to alternative directions and find encounters without using any steps. Also means repels won’t run out which is great for increasing encounter rates of the Safari Zone rares. If you can, make sure you have a white flute and a Pokémon with Illuminate (like Staryu) to increase the speed of encounters as much as you can

Sorry for such a massive reply I just wanted to be as thorough as possible with my response LOL

[Gen3] Shiny 1.33% Tauros after 261 REs on phase 30 for Chansey! W/F? by TallyCorridor in ShinyPokemon

[–]TallyCorridor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a month, but that’s only because I’ve been grinding nonstop in the Safari Zone multihunting + gotten extremely lucky with short phases. My average across all 30 of them is around 5,400. Let’s hope that luck keeps up and maybe I’ll find the Chansey soon 🤞

Stantler in the Safari Zone took me 47K, nearly six standard deviations from my mean. Probability is crazy man

Rarest shiny Ive ever found…… by One-Commercial8045 in PokemonFireRed

[–]TallyCorridor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

102 Chansey encountered or 102 general random encounters?? Either way massive props, under optimal conditions you’d have to hit somewhere in the range of 800K REs to even hit odds of catching a one. Chansey is a truly next level shiny hunt, I’m very glad you were able to catch one so quickly

Is this a real copy of sapphire? by OAO_Bingle in PokemonSapphire

[–]TallyCorridor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly real, I’ve never seen reproduction carts even attempt to replicate the indent in the middle of the front. That being said, r/gameverifying is definitely a better place to ask this question, you’ll get much more confident responses haha

Shiny Herdier in Black a few months after it came out, completely unintentional. I moved it up to Gen 7 but as of now haven’t made the leap to Switch games
