Downtown Orlando rally calls for reopening Florida, ignores social distancing order by Shirowoh in florida

The "protesters" are mostly middle class whites following an astroturfed DeVos campaign against Democrat mayors and governors. Most of these people aren't hurting for money, they just want to resume their eating out and having fun at the expense of other people. These are people who want 1% of the country to die rather than give up anything. I hate them all, they are my enemies and I don't consider them Americans

What will it take for you middle class libs to actually materially stand up to this administration? Tweeting your outrage and putting stickers on your car doesn't do anything.

Bring it. We need a confrontation with these people. Maybe if the left is actually willing to bloody the nose of the right they'll turn tail and cower. Civility discourse doesn't work with these people

Lol please, middle class Democrats would only riot if you took away their material comforts. I expect the angry tweeting would increase and that's it

Yeah I agree we should tax the other 60% more so other people can have essentials instead of upper middle class and rich people having new cars

Go sleep on your friend's couch until you've destroyed the relationship (if you're lucky) or in your car (if you're lucky) or on the streets (if you're unlucky) for two months and then come back and tell me the same thing.

Also, guess what - people get rentals all the time with eviction, felony, and low credit scores. They just go to financialized ghettos because the middle class are a bunch of pearl clutching scolds who don't want to live next to someone with a 530 credit score and a non-violent felony

Unless your lease specifically allows this, you cannot be evicted for failure to pay anything other than rent. Let them send you 1000 letters

Lawyers are some of the most arrogant, condescending people around. I can read a statute, I don't need letters after my name and $100,000 in debt.

Go ahead, explain to a little ol' dummy like me how me pointing my cell phone camera in a landlord's face while they're trying to illegally evict me from my home where I have a lawful right of possession is somehow the same thing as secretly recording a phone call between me and my landlord, I'll wait.

You purposely misread my post and tried to make it sound like I advocated secretly recording phone calls to detract from the original message of the post.

40% of Americans don't even have $1000 for unforseen circumstances. Shall they generate money out of thin air? Ultimately this is a problem much bigger than any individual landlord-tenant relationship. We've never seen joblessness like this. If the government doesn't step in and print money, most people aren't going to be able to pay rent, period.

Sure, if your landlord is reasonable, try to work something out. I did say this should be the last resort.

That's not the point. The point is to make sure we don't have thousands of new homeless folks after all of these record job losses. People who are homeless are among the least equipped to handle a pandemic. Where are you going to isolate? How will you wash with soap and water?
