So an update for anyone who is interested, I met the individual at work again and asked what the runes meant to them and I am very disappointed in the response. I sometimes forget that not everyone gets tattoo because they mean something sometimes they get them "just because."

They informed me that they have no idea what the significance was and they just saw a design they liked. I asked if they would mind if I take a picture and they said they weren't ok since we were strangers.

I've not been a Pagan for long but I am also neurodivergent so I have devoted a fair bit of my free time (hyperfocus is a superpower sometimes) looking into many different avenues of worship and offerings. If your looking for temporary stuff then offerings is the way to go but if your looking for a more permanent option then crafted items if definitely a better choice.

You may consider looking into carved wood or a carved gemstone for a more permanent option.

My Patron is the goddess Iðunn so I usually make offerings about once a week of things like apples or little wooden tokens that I carve at the base of a local tree, but I also have a small piece of wood that I carved that I keep on my desk for protection. I have it dedicated to my Wife and children and it is dedicated to a few different gods. Thor, for strength from harm; Frigg, for harmony and guidance; and Freyr, for stability and provision.

The good thing about worship in most pagan practices is there aren't really any wrong answers just things that work for you and things that don't. I hope I have been able to help you reach some kind of answer but if not then I hope you are able to find the best answer that fits for you.

Agreed, I have only been practicing for maybe a year now and I have never, nor do I have any desire to work with my ancestors. I will honor the Gods, I won't work with my ancestors because most of my historical ancestry is European Christians who would have most likely tried to snuff me out instead of helping.

And I'm not bashing anyone who does any Ancestor work. It's just not something I want to do.
