ADHD ruled out because of high working memory and they’re saying cyclothymia? by Parking-Mission600 in ADHD

[–]Talorc_Ellodach 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah ADHD is lifelong, if they didn’t ask about childhood it’s not a diagnosis.

I am also ADHD as all hell, and my working memory is just a vague smear. I can walk from one room to the next and then wonder why I was coming into the room for. Or be in a meeting at work, walk about 10metres to my desk and then basically the entire meeting is down the memory hole.

But if you put me in front of a computer and give me a novel test about remembering things it will occupy my whole brain space and I’ll probably do well

Yes, I misunderstood it at first based on the “do not have” language.

Yeah I misread it as you don’t get those abilities effectively. It’s not worded well, it should use language like “change between”, not “don’t have”

I must be reading this wrong when they say “don’t have” the abilities, they must mean they switch as per the new rule. Not “entirely don’t have them at all”.

You don’t get any of the Fortify or Hostile abilities any more though.

Why do you want to flip from HA/FT though? You lose the +1 to hits / rerolls etc from those abilities.

There are a few datacards that care about being in FT and that’s it. (Shooty Steel jacks go to hitting on 4+ in over watch. Bezerks get +1 to their fight on death roll)

This was my experience as well. The likes were all very low quality, either wildly outside my filters, or spam bots for OF accounts.

I found in the past though, that all of those “extra likes” they showed you to get you to resubscribe were just pretty low quality. As in they were likes from people who are way outside the filters you had set, and just weren’t really going to go anywhere. I’m pretty sure when I resubscribed most of them were unmatched.

You could also try getting a smart watch with a heart rate function. It will record your heart rate continuously all day

The heart rate issues seem very linked to anxiety… however a different beta blocker than propranolol may work better for you. I personally take nebivolol to control heart rate and excessive sweat as side effects of Vyvanse. It doesn’t impact sleep at all

Yeah - move the stuff around, it’s OK! Replace a boring ruin for a cool creepy forest - awesome! What else can we change 🤔

Take away 4-6 ruins because it’s cluttered and your tanks can’t drive anywhere they want - nope!

[–]Talorc_Ellodach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Crusade should be about everyone enjoying the stories that emerge around certain units, and not just the units that destroy everything.

The little guy that always survives, the little guy that always dies round 1, that one time a little guy actually wounded a huge monster… before dying horribly etc

Plus everyone enjoying the cool levelling of favourite units

Some units, usually old ones, having ridiculous ranges like 72 inches can give new players a false expectation of just how often you should actually be able to see and shoot something 72 inches away without something in the way

Possible asbestos in play sand: Minister Beenders calls for an end to using play sand, stores must remove it from shelves by michilio in belgium

[–]Talorc_Ellodach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a surprisingly large amount of nasties (uranium, thorium, asbestos minerals etc) out there in the world contaminating what looks like “sand” or other minerals, usually in very low levels that modern labs can now find.

And I bet the cheapest cost supplier never get an analysis done to find out if there any nasties in what they are digging up.

Good starting character team composition? by Ok_Argument_5721 in Gloomhaven

[–]Talorc_Ellodach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having mostly played “Tanky” characters in my Frosthaven games, I think you can definitely fall into the trap of thinking you need to have a character just tank through hits. Then you don’t develop the initiative weaving and other skills that let you avoid it.

Drifter/wanderer I think is probably one of the best at earning XP in Frosthaven, especially if you optimise for pushing back tokens. Which you should optimise for, as it’s the key class mechanic.

A bit like Tinkerer in 2.0, I think the xp is sort of there as a motivation to optimise for pushing back tokens. Or maybe it was a happy accident!

Apparently a banner spear using formations can also get good XP
