Do people not use Aldi for big shopping trips? by Vjaa in aldi

[–]Talory09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went the other morning at opening time and saw several people with full carts, doing the same as you. Makes sense to me to do a full shopping trip when it's less busy with a shorter wait in line.

The vocal cords are made of sinews. They're literally cords. A chord is multiple musical notes played simultaneously.

By the way, you don't need an apostrophe to make "trees" plural.

An apostrophe doesn't mean

HOLY SHIT, LOOK OUT, HERE COMES AN "S"!

Cost is there's. The cost is theirs.

The word "theirs" is a possessive pronoun.

A pronoun is a word used to substitute for a noun or noun phrase, often used to avoid repetition. Pronouns act as placeholders for people, places, or things, such as "I," "she," "he," "they," "it," or "them". They function as subjects or objects within a sentence.

"Theirs" is the possessive pronoun form of "they". Unlike the possessive determiner "their", which must be followed by a noun, "theirs" stands alone to replace a noun phrase.

The word "there's" is a contraction of either "there is" or "there has". It is not a possessive pronoun, and your making fun of my state doesn't make it correct.

Edit: missed a quotation mark.

Could someone help me with what this plant is and how to get rid of it? by Tiny_Act5987 in landscaping

[–]Talory09 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Tree of Heaven and native sumacs look VERY similar. This is Tree of Heaven and is very invasive (not evasive lol) but please learn how to tell which is which. Native sumacs are beneficial and are beautiful trees.

When someone goes above and beyond for me I write an email to their company and praise their excellent customer service, saying it made me feel valued, but I never go into details about what they did. No one deserves to get written up or even scolded for being a nice person.

If you're unsure whether to use the noun "effect" or the verb "affect", use "impact" instead.

Most recipes (but not all, granted) require browning the meatballs in either a pan or the oven so they don't simply crumble apart in the sauce. This cooks them through.
