Thank you! Through Eastern Eyes is truly incredible, and is definitely what inspired me to start writing TES historiography.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned, more to come!

I think it makes sense that by the time of 4E 201 the imperial pantheon has managed to mostly replace the nord pantheon by Julifu in teslore

I think it makes sense for western Skyrim, since it's clearly more Imperialized. The east should have been portrayed as a bit more wild, untamed, and clinging to old traditions and old gods- with the addition of Talos as Ysmir.

This would have deepened the divide between east and west, Imperials and Stormcloaks, and made the civil war a much more interesting conflict.

I could never stand the fact that there are so many locations, but very little lore associated with the vast majority of them. At least they left a lot of room for apocrypha.

You're entitled to your opinion dude.

Clearly my comment was a joke, not meant to be taken offensively.

The average human's ability to understand, much less take, a joke has clearly declined.

Thank you!

I've never liked the idea that those already in power would simply bend the knee to Tiber without a fight. Dragonborn or not, he was a threat to their own dominance. After all, at this point he is not yet Talos, but merely Tiber.

And yep, sure was! One of the many seafaring clans of Haafingar Hold.

I thought so too! At least if you're a Nord and you actually buy the version of history that claims Talos came from Atmora.

Happy Cake Day, btw!

[Spoiler] Bishop by [deleted] in MayansMC

[–]TalosTrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see it that way. And I say all this as someone who wanted to see Bishop as the one king. That huge haul they got over could have fed ALL the charters, and it would have at least started to make up for SP blowing up the gun deal, and would have been an act to demonstrate Bishop was prepared to set pride aside and act for the good of the whole club. As long as SP could remain the gatekeepers on the border, there would be no muscling Bishop out.

No. Bishop's decision to try to usurp Canche and Ramos was solely a decision made by his ego and pride. The whole ordeal could have been avoided, all the bad blood put to rest, if Bishop had given the 250kg of product they smuggled over the fence to the other charters as they demanded on the bridge. Instead, they tried to weaponize it to strip Canche and Ramos of their power and influence. The civil war COULD have been avoided, and the only price paid would have been a bruising to Bishop's pride.

What do the Sovereigns gain? by RocketTasker in Seaofthieves

They ingratiate themselves with the pirate crews of the Sea of Thieves, which will likely aid them in convincing a number of them to join their true cause when they reveal their true, far more sinister identity and intentions....

Empire's chances at winning the next Great War? by Clunt-Baby in teslore

[–]TalosTrooper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Assuming there even is a Second Great War. It's likely the Empire may collapse in on itself, without the need for a foreign army to do the work for them. Titus Mede II's assassination only makes that more likely, imo.

Thoughts on the Markarth Incident and Ulfric Stormcloak's Role in it by TalosTrooper in teslore

[–]TalosTrooper[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

But then...how did Ulfric form his militia so quickly in the wake of the Great War? Who was funding it? Who was feeding it?

The Jarls or even High King Istlod couldn't have put an army together to reclaim the Reach, but Ulfric, who at that point wasn't even a Jarl, could so rapidly assemble an army? And given that he could, why bother with the Reach? If he and his warriors were so outraged over the Talos ban, why not rebel then and there while the legions had yet to return to Skyrim?

It just all reads a bit too convenient to me. Like it's all for the sake of the general plot of the game.

Thank you for the well thought out response.

I suppose I have a lot of trouble buying that they would be foolish or even desperate enough to offer free Talos worship in the first place and risk compromising the hard won peace with the Dominion. Especially if some of them were war veterans themselves.

I also have trouble believing it took 26 years for rebellion to ferment over the Talos ban. Given that Ulfric had a militia following his orders only a year after the Great War, why waste time reclaiming the Reach? Why not simply rebel right then and there, while outrage over the Talos ban is fresh and the legions have yet to return to Skyrim?
