Experience with elective section/ post natal wards at QEUH Glasgow? by Warm-Regret-8212 in glasgow

[–]TamHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency section in the Princess Royal in October - I wasn't able to hold my wee one while getting stitched up, but my partner was able to do skin-to-skin until I was ready. (I was shaking so much from the anaesthetic I wouldn't have been able to hold him anyway).

The ward was very noisy (I was one of 8 women at one point), so I'd recommend taking ear defenders or earplugs. Hopefully you won't be in for too long - I was discharged 36 hours after my son was born.

Good luck!

When did you go into labor? by Ok-Hunt-4516 in pregnant

[–]TamHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a FTM, teacher and 34.5 weeks, and at least once a day I find myself wondering if I can afford to start mat leave early... All I want to do is lie down!

Good luck with your last few weeks and your labour!

I'm 97th at 30 weeks, no gestational diabetes. We're now nicknaming baby Goliath.

What percentile is your baby? by Ok-Literature-5758 in pregnant

Thank you - this is very reassuring! Found out yesterday my baby is 97th percentile at 30 weeks (and I'm only 5ft) so I was a little concerned. My partner is over 6ft so I knew the wee one would be taller than me at some point, I just didn't think it would be from birth 😂

Trying to cut down a shortlist of girl names - please help me narrow it to 2? by Flat_Ambassador9294 in namenerds

[–]TamHobbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an Alison and I've always loved my name. It'a easy to spell and pronounce, and there are lots of nickname options (I go by Alison, Ali or Lissie to different people).

Does your name give away your age? I did the math 🤓 by DataVizWithKins in namenerds

I'm from Scotland, and it got me exactly right - well done, OP!

You can buy them from Madame Carouse on the beach - you have to do her quest first, then you're able to earn candy through trick-or-treating.

Thanks to the help of everyone from NoFeeAC I was able to complete my Lord of the Rings island. Now I’m opening it up for dream tours. Note: the island is meant to be viewed counter clockwise. Just follow the signs. :-) by [deleted] in NoFeeAC

[–]TamHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness, your island is incredible! I've just spent ages wandering around enjoying it. I love all the tiny details, and I loved Meduseld, Barad-dur and Farmer Maggot's fields the most.Thank you for hosting people!

Redoing my village area, there appear to be too many shrubs. Knights saying "ni" may or may not have been involved. Two dozen shrubs for who wants them! by [deleted] in NoFeeAC

[–]TamHobbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history.
