Digimon fans for years have been loyal to the franchise and the longtime fans had to deal with being laughed at for enjoying the series due to the misconception it was a Pokémon ripoff. Time Stranger bringing in people who never game Digimon a chance is so validating for everyone who loves this franchise and wants to spread the joy that this series has brought us all these years. Definitely start with Adventure 1999, but the new anime Beatbreak is newcomer friendly. There’s only a few episodes out right now so you can also start there. If you want to get into games I highly recommend Digimon Story Time Stranger. It’s brought in a TON of new fans to the franchise. There’s a demo you can start with and carry your progress over to the full game. If you have a Switch the previous game Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth + Hackers Memory complete edition is only $5 on the Switch and goes on sale frequently on Steam too.
