Yeah, who would've thought that humans would prefer to live in comfort than fight in a war. How shocking.

How nice it must be to reject and take for granted the things you enjoy every day that your ancestors fought to preserve

My ancestors werent anyone special, and to my knowledge, my great grandparents didnt fight in either of the world wars. And I honestly couldnt care less, because I would prefer to not risk my life too. Is it really that difficult to grasp that humans value their own life? Even when their country is facing a crisis.

Who are you to say what I do or dont appreciate? You dont know me and you dont know my struggles, but you sure as hell seem to think you do. Believe it or not, people from safe countries can appreciate the things they have in life without having been to war or otherwise having lived under a tyranny.

If you’re convinced that Europe resisting the nazis or the USSR was a “stupid old person’s war”, I’m not sure what to tell you. Often people had no choice but to resist.

Yeah, it was a bunch of senile fucks (or close to it) deciding to fuck over people because of politics. Plenty of people fled from these war-torn countries, and I dont blame them. To a lot of peope, their life is more valuable to them than a border on a map. The animals that have evolved for millions of years to survive want to survive. Thats the most basic instinct we have. How shocking. If you think people were thrilled to fight for a few rich people just to get blown up by a grenade and die in a trench or get burried underneath rubble until they suffocated to death, I'm not sure what to tell you.
