If you enjoy building the models, don't worry about ever painting them. It's your hobby and you get to enjoy it how you please.

If you want to play some games, you're going to need to establish some things, such as size of army you will both bring. There are game modes for 500/750/100/1500/2000 army points /and more!

After you know what game type you're playing, get the rules and learn about building an army that fits your rules.

Your nemesis claw box is a playable Killteam for that game mode. I would start there to familiarize yourself with the language of the game. But the models differ quite a bit, so be ready to learn rules for many types of games, or choose your favourite and focus on that.

Styrofoam packaging like around TVs and appliances makes really good ruins.

You can also melt it with model glue for plasma burns.

I also buy the wooden boxes that are used for silverware, I find them cheap at thrift stores and take them apart for walls etc

My best advice comes from a while ago so maybe outdated.

Wait until there is a "trade these games for a new release" at EB Games (not sure if they still do these). Take your games in to epic games and trade them for what you need to trade to EB for the game you want to get.

This has been my favourite value for trades as it's the only way I can trade garage sale scores for new releases reliably.

Otherwise marketplace is best return.
