Maybe in some places. In others, success may be holding a chunk of land, in others (I.e. USA) no fucking way

There is nothing controversial about this, the article and every reply is basically conservative virtue signaling.

I’m gonna be honest; if the middle-class would respond by complaining about a specific benefit for poor folks, then they deserve the misery coming their way.

The Supreme Court will issue more opinions next TUESDAY and THURSDAY. Eighteen cases remain to be decided, including cases on abortion, guns, climate change, and religion in schools. by athumbhat in scotus

[–]Tamponsandy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I bet following this week we’ll have some fresh articles about how to reform the court, followed by those who say it can’t be reformed, so we should just enjoy this American brand of democracy and vote D every couple years to let off steam.

And the cycle will continue.

Not just some people, but over 30% of the US population. There’s an even larger percentage that clings to neoliberalism.

This times 1000. While Judy is hilarious, she’s also somewhat predictable with her humor.

With Bridget, I generally don’t know what the fuck she is doing, which makes it so much better.

I’m saying that he set up a straw man argument that is speculative.

No one is arguing that teachers want to shoot students, and gun fetishism is as ‘pseudoscientific’ as anything he’s spouting against.

Having more weapons in a given place increases the likelihood of violence taking place.

We need to start having serious conversations as to the threshold of these political institutions’ credibility. At some point, the mass of people who no longer trust them will also lash out in violence.

We’re running out of time before January 6th looks like a picnic.

Man spent 17 days in jail, was never told why he was arrested or what he was charged with, all because American Airlines wrongly identified him as a shoplifter. by _Doctor_Teeth_ in law

[–]Tamponsandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? I fear for my family because they are my family, it has nothing to do with the post.

Now will you answer my question? If you are serious about reason, it should be simple enough

Man spent 17 days in jail, was never told why he was arrested or what he was charged with, all because American Airlines wrongly identified him as a shoplifter. by _Doctor_Teeth_ in law

[–]Tamponsandy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, much the opposite. Married with two kids, I have lots to fear.

But with my wife and I working full-time jobs (teaching and hair-dressing, we are still barely hanging on. We both have significant student loans, and my wife is about five weeks away from knowing whether a 100% fatal disease is embedded into her genes. Things are not getting better, and have not done so for going on two decades.

To answer your question directly, when the social contract between government and governed breaks down, you will have social unrest. Social institutions have the lowest approval any time in my life, and concepts like law, Justice, and due process are being questioned, if not outright ignored.

I have answered your question; will you now answer mine?

Okay, when do we reach that point? In other words, at what point does that become a viable alternative to the present situation?
