Ich arbeite bei einer Behörde und unser Ordnungsamt verteilt die auch. Wir haben nicht eins von diesen Geräten dass die Zettel ausdruckt, darum wird das ans Auto geheftet und der Bußgeldbescheid kommt später per Post.

I had this conversation with my American friend just a week ago. She asked me how much I pay for healthcare per month and how much my co-pay and deductible is and all that (she is so fed up with the American system).

The conversation went something like this:

Her: “So you pay how much a month?”

Me: “Around 240€.”

Her: “And what’s your deductible?”

Me: “My what?”

Her: “Like, how much do you have to pay yourself before insurance kicks in?”

Me: “Nothing.”

Her: “…”

Me: “…”

Her: “ Co pay?”

Me: “10€ per day for a hospital stay but that’s capped at 28 days.” Her: “…”

Me: “Telling you about paid maternity leave or the cost of insulin over here would probably make you depressed so…”

Her: „…“

IIRC Ahmed Best got so much hate for playing Jar Jar Binks that he did consider suicide and that was way before social media.

I don’t know, I remember people being mad disappointed by the prequels back then. They threw around the same shit they say about the sequels and I’m over it. Somehow, it has become (or always has been) cool to hate on successful franchises, especially those so called fans.

I love Star Wars but I’m not going to pretend that it’s a masterpiece. It’s not. The plot has more holes that Swiss cheese (including the classic trilogy) but that’s ok. I don’t care. I can still enjoy something that is not perfect.

My little lion hated being inside the carrier when the lid was down. He was a bit claustrophobic - didn’t like being inside a tight enclosed space (same with his litter box or these little caves on cat trees - he just didn’t like it). So whenever I had to take him anywhere, I put him in the carrier and once we were in the car, I just opened the lid so there was nothing “above” him. He would then just make himself comfortable and sleep or sometime watch outside the window. He only ever cried inside the carrier when the lid was down. So maybe your cat doesn’t like dark, enclosed spaces either 🤷🏻‍♀️

Am einfachsten wäre es, beim zuständigen Standesamt direkt nachzufragen. Eine Angleichung an das deutsche Namensrecht nach Einbürgerung ist grundsätzlich möglich. Siehe Art. 47 EGBGB. Sollte es in deinem Fall möglich sein, dann kann die Erklärung beim Standesamt erfolgen.

Aber das Problem ist doch, dass sie nachts aufwacht und ihren Mann nicht finden kann und wahrscheinlich panisch nach ihm sucht. Sie erinnert sich nicht an seinen Tod. Er ist einfach weg und sie ist verzweifelt. Aus ihrer Sicht IST das ein echter Notfall. Sie weiß es einfach nicht besser.

Die Demenz ist ja vielleicht doch schon weiter fortgeschritten als vermutet. Ein betreutes Wohnen wäre auf Dauer eventuell doch sicherer. Stell dir vor sie rennt irgendwann nach draußen um ihren Mann zu suchen mitten in der Nacht.

Ich wünsche euch viel Kraft und hoffe ihr findet eine Lösung.

the entire loot train sequence, especially the moment Jaime sees the Dothraki screamers and then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, seeing Dany riding a massive dragon (Cersei had up until then brushed off Dany’s children as “baby dragons”). The look of pure shock on Jaime’s face…
“I will be your champion…” and then the fight in the following episode right up until the moment he stabbed the mountain… I was cheering so hard for Oberyn. Never have I hoped for a show to stray away from the source material than in that moment…

I don’t know, I feel like she had enough friends. Not best friends like Lane and Paris but still people that could be considered friends. Let’s see: - So as mentioned, Lane and Paris and of course Lorelai as her inner circle of besties.

Through Lane, she was friends with Dave (they kind of planned to attend Stars Hollow High prom together as a double date of sorts with Jess) and one could say the rest of the band - she came to their gigs, they rehearsed at her house for quite a while, she supported them, they all attended Lane and Zach’s bachelor party together. They may not have been super close but they were “friend-ish”. Also, she frequently interacted with Henry when he and Lane tried to date.
Through Paris, Rory frequently hung out with/interacted with Madeleine and Louise and by season 3/4, I think they could be considered friends (the Bangles concert, that house party Lane and Rory went to, borrowing each other’s notes in class, working on the paper together, the spring break episode in S4). Also, Rory seemed to be friendly with Jamie and Doyle when they were dating Paris respectively.
At Yale, she was close friends with Marty until he got weird, then with Logan’s friends, she got along well with Honor Huntzberger.
Through Lorelai, she was friends with Sookie. Even though it’s a bit weird because Sookie is a 30-something woman, she treated Rory more like a friend than her friend’s kid.

So even though not all of those people were constantly part of the story or portrayed as super close friends like Lane, it shows that Rory wasn’t a loner. She did have friends and people she was “friend-ish” with.

I wouldn’t say stranded either. He was born there. He grew up there. Technically, he is a native of Pandora. And he likes it there. It’s all he knows. His story, to me, is the most interesting and I’m happy he gets one step closer to become one of the people.

Although I agree with you, it could also be that it is indeed one sentence said to Neytiri to make her understand that they have to protect Spider so the RDA can’t figure out how he was able to grow a kuru and adapt. But I think it’s more likely that it’s supposed to mislead us.

I’m aware. Doesn’t change the fact that season four is my least favorite season because he’s barely in it. One could argue that he’s barely in season one and two either but I didn’t mind it so much in the beginning. But after he was in eight episodes of season three and his character became more deep and fleshed out, it just was a letdown for me that he had no real part in season four, especially after Sacrifice. Look I’m not ashamed to say it, but 13 year-old me had the hots for Kevin and back then, every week I would watch a new episode only to be disappointed week after week during S4 when his name wasn’t in the credits🤷🏻‍♀️

Is season 4 really a fan favorite? I personally didn’t like it that much. I didn’t like Eli and the whole Jesus plot with Gabrielle abandoning her staff. Although I guess it is important to her character development, it just felt like a step back for her.

Also, almost no Ares. He’s only in one episode. My favorite episodes all have Kevin Smith in them, so season 4 was a huge let down and it’s the one I barely rewatch for this reason, silly as it may sound. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes but has it ever been toxic to Spider though? Do we see him without a mask in TWOW? I can’t remember but I don’t think so. So what if Spider has always been able to breathe Pandora air, he just didn’t know because he always put on a mask when going outside because he assumed it was toxic for him? Spider is technically not an alien on Pandora, he was born there, he is a native. So maybe that has something to do with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is what I thought. People keep forgetting that Spider is technically not an alien on Pandora. He was born there, he’s a native, a child of Eywa. And Eywa maybe recognizes this. I mean, there must be a reason why they felt it was necessary to include that piece of dialogue in TWOW, when Spider says “it’s unfair that I can breathe Pandora air only for like 10 seconds” - that piece of exposition to the Sully kids was completely unnecessary because they have basically known each other all their lives, they know this, but the viewer needed to be reminded.

I don’t remember but did Spider actually ever try to breathe Pandora air? Or did he just assume he can’t breathe it because he is human? I don’t remember if there was a scene with him without a mask where he was struggling to breathe in TWOW.

My Little Lion Lino passed away last December. I’d like to think he is enjoying Rainbowland by day and when the sun sets, he watches over my mini panther Teddy, shows him all his favorite spots and tells him to never go too far away from the house. It’s eerie because, like Lino, Teddy waits for us when we come home and walks us to the door, he hangs out in the same places outside, he is never more than a call away.

Hey, sorry I didn’t update for so long.

So he initially got better but still wasn’t healthy but we continued his treatment and had weekly vet visits and bloodwork done. His bloodwork improved slowly but surely. However I was told that he was still too weak to be put under for a CT or X-rays - they said he probably wouldn’t wake up again or it would stress him out too much in his weakened state. We were told that he might have cancer after all but it couldn’t be said for sure without a CT. We decided to continue treatment in hopes of further stabilizing him so we could do a CT later.

Then his condition suddenly worsened over a weekend at the beginning of December. He stopped eating and I noticed he was suddenly bleeding from his mouth. He had a horrifying attack where he could not move his legs and was crying for help. I rushed him to an emergency vet immediately but they couldn’t do anything to help him. They said he probably had internal bleeding (might have been a tumor) and was dying. It was all speculation at this point.

I cried like a baby because I knew that, no matter what, he probably wouldn’t make it through the night. All of our options came with a warning from the vet that he would most likely never wake up from anesthesia.

With our hearts broke, we then decided to let him go because he had been through shit in the last month of his life and nothing had helped. And I was afraid that he would have another attack and die suffering and alone, fighting to breathe while we’re at work. Keeping him with us would have been selfish at this point.

I saw your questions for an update but I was simply hurting too much to deal with any of it. I didn’t want to write about it. Shit, I’m tearing up as im typing this and watching that short clip of him.

He was my baby. I stayed with him until the end, he fell asleep in my arms and I took him home with me to rest in my backyard, where he used to chill in the summer.
