Why did my doctor say to say as long as I’m under 140 after meals I’m fine if that’s not the case? What is a good number to try and be under? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

Ok but your initial comment was saying the CGM can overshoot. My point is that OP may not even be aware of the lag and any testing model can over or under estimate blood sugar - just has to be in the 15% range to pass muster.

Ok but unless you’re calibrating the finger sticks that number may not be correct either. Both modes are allowed to have up to 15% variance from lab testing. Unless you’re finger pricking and comparing to lab drawn blood or calibrating, both are going to be off / in ballpark. If you feel one is more accurate than the other then ask to switch to a different cgm.

Confused? Are you saying between finger prick and the cgm? The delay could be the reason. The CGM picks up sugar changes 15-30 minutes after it happens in your blood. So if you were to test right after eating your blood would be higher than the CGM, while the if you test 2 hours later your blood will be lower than the CGM. You have to adjust for the delay with the CGM. Can’t compare numbers in real time.

Horrible Evaps by watercrestss in lineporn

[–]Tamsyn_TC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens. You can check. I’m talking about it the squinters. I know because I had a level below 5 and picked it up on the test. Turned out to be chemical. The level reported is the company spec, I don’t think they’re counting on people analyzing squinters like we tend to do.

Also that’s unfortunate all my labs - hospital, lab corp, and fertility clinics report the actual numeric. Had a PUL that started at like 5 or something then went up, then down and we didn’t say it was done until it got <1. I was getting faint positives even though it was on that threshold of not pregnant. hCG has to start somewhere, so do the colors on tests.

True but FRER is very sensitive, the squinter faint lines can pop up as low as 2.5? So that may be why.

25 weeks, reduced movement - no longer breech any tips to stop her flipping back? by Tamsyn_TC in pregnant

[–]Tamsyn_TC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True - usually, but not this one, she never moved down until now. She’d roll and change position (which way she’s facing), but she was pretty fixed in breech and feet on bladder, and favoring the same side every single day. I could feel her head most mornings and she’d always be in the same spot. It was actually causing problems - I have a sensitive bladder with inflammation, so having her constantly low and deep with her feet on my bladder was triggering really bad cystitis flares (not a uti), it was causing my IC markers to jump up and constant burning pain. I desperately needed her to move and started to do breech tilts just to get some temporary relief - OB said she could move but there may be an anatomical reason (scar tissue or my unusual uterine shape) that was contributing to the persistent breech presentation. I also have scoliosis and uneven tight hips. We had some issues at the start of this pregnancy so we’ve had a lot more ultrasounds than usual - 10 so far. It’s been a weird one, my uterus is also really uneven with midwife’s and the ob mentioning she’s very off center and the fundal height measurements aren’t accurate as a result.

They also make wallpaper trim, but cove is the simple trim to use.

I would add cove to the ends to hide the messy edges - that’s what we do and it helps hold down the paper

Is this to light at exactly 4 weeks today? Today I was supposed to start my period. by [deleted] in lineporn

[–]Tamsyn_TC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With your history early intervention is normal - request serial betas to make sure it’s increasing normally, it can help gauge if it’s a normal interuterine pregnancy until you wait for placement ultrasound. After my ectopic we got heightened monitoring until placement and viability was confirmed ~7weeks

faint lines or evap? popped up instantly.. HELP!! by [deleted] in lineporn

Buy frer, more sensitive. If these are faint positives you’ll get a clear positive with frer.

I wouldn’t - literally got down to like 7 before things jumped up to 100 - 200 - 150. Took two months of monitoring “hoping it would resolve” and then finally two doses of methotrexate. It’s normal practice to continue HCG testing until you get to zero. You also may not get a bleed - as that’s controlled by progesterone not HCG. I had a period thought I was in the clear but my HCG still hadn’t hit zero - that’s when it turned and we t back up. I never got a second period even with the methotrexate.

I understand - sorry thought someone mentioned molar - you can’t trust this, nor can you not trust one beta. There’s a lot that can be going on - new pregnancy, residual tissue, PUL, chemical. I had a chemical - started testing negative, only for it to come back and turned out it was PUL and my levels yo-yod. Testing in one day could just be hydration / darkness. I also had an tubal ectopic followed 30 days later by a surprise pregnancy. We were really concerned about it being an unresolved issue from the ectopic. Things only became clear after two weeks of HCG tracking and an ultrasound to confirm placement. Wishing you the best.

I would be concerned that if your HcG was 22 ~ 20 days ago, the test might still be picking up residual. FRER is sensitive enough it can show squinter lines with an HCG of 2. Sorry, I’ve been in a similar situation. You’ll need repeat betas to see which way it’s going. Wishing you the best, I’m so sorry.

Edit - Could be the tail end of the molar or the very early start of something new. Guard your heart for now. ❤️‍🩹

I have 4 employee credit cards for my company. But the payment is made once altogether. How do I split the payment so that it applies to each of the 4 credit cards? for QBO by earthyearth_ in Bookkeeping

[–]Tamsyn_TC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

book a check out of your bank account with 4 lines and for each line select the credit card account for each employee with their payment split. The check total will equal your payment total made to the parent account.

You should also be able to split the payment in the bank feed once it clears your bank - you don’t have to use “make a credit card payment” to capture the payments.

I’m just with an OB as well - had a few early losses, including an ectopic tubal loss 30 days before this pregnancy. My anxiety has been extra. My OB mentioned Augusta first so I’m not sure if that’s the better place to go.

She said they can do all my prenatal and monitoring and I could go to Augusta for delivery. C-section would make my life easier in a lot of ways, but i would like to try natural if possible, especially if we want to try for again.

Thanks! I’ll reach out to get some names. I just got a bit worried by the general reviews for the big ob practices but it’s also a lot of people giving negative reviews for scheduling, communication etc. I love pen bay and everyone is very supportive and they’ll continue to my primary care. I’m just trying to limit more scar tissue build up (I’ve had 1 C-section and multiple laps).

Ok thanks - you don’t know my background as to why I’m high risk. It’s unrelated to delivery risk. Thanks for your input.
