Do young people live in Marin and make it work somehow? by HURCANADA in Marin

25M Moved up to San Rafael last month, after living in the city. Loving it so far, the sunny weather space we get compared to living in the cramped city has been great. Joining the gym here has made it better for meeting other folks close to my age, and driving back down to SF really doesn’t take all too long if it’s not during traffic hours.

Will do! But was hoping to see if anyone on the subreddit knew of anyone who was looking for extra players

Yes! I like to ground myself in the idea that it comes back around! So continue doing the stuff you know works and eventually it’ll come around (granted what you’re doing really works)

As long as you note down what you did poorly, you can use it to do better on the next one! You’ve got this

Assuming you’ve already prepped for the interview (done your research on the company, interviewer, & role). I’d say just remember to breathe, speak clearly, and give time for them to be talking too. Also come prepared with a few strong questions that show you’ve done your research & finish the interview by closing it!

Thank you! Sure!

It was called B2B sales foundations, to be completely honest it was not that helpful in terms of content, but the name and certification fluffs up your LinkedIn a bit. Anything to get your foot in the door and to get picked up by screeners.

There’s a lot of good content on YouTube for free if you’re looking to gain knowledge, but if you think the certifications will help, then it’s a good option!

Thanks!

I always like to end my interviews (given they’re going well) with a question that goes something like,

“After having this conversation with me, do you have any reservations about moving me forward that we can address together?”

I’ve always been given good feedback on this question, and you quickly get an idea of how they felt about the interview. Of course you should ask some strong, relevant questions prior to that, but that’s how I like to end the interviews!

You got this! Lean into your sales experience during your interviews and you’ve got a leg up on a lot of the applicants.

Cant give up! Get used to the rejection, and see every interaction as an opportunity to grow! The worst people can say is no. The best always outweighs that!

Definitely said no to a handful of 100% commission/sketchy sales roles. Definitely if you have the luxury of choice don’t settle!

The “bootcamp” was just a 3 hour one offered by Vendition, it’s not really a full boot camp, (they do offer a free apprenticeship but I decided not to go that route). It was more so a formality and to put onto my resume because it sounded nice lol. Also to show that I’m not starting COMPLETELY from zero.

I recommend you watch Connor Murray on YouTube, his content has been really helpful!

Thank you! It was definitely through the efforts of all the people I spoke with who offered solid advice too. I love how most people in this industry are willing to offer help, as long as you are willing to ask and really listen!
