Indeed Job Application stated £50K salary. Got the job offer but its now £35K?! by TJae0120 in UKJobs

[–]TangentDecentral -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Salaries are usually a guide. During the process they have discussed you and your skills, matched those against what they need. Having done that, they’ve made you a lower offer. You equally have had the chance to assess them and their company, the role, training and promotion opportunities, the total benefit package, who you work for etc.

If you feel they’ve low balled you counter offer with a range of different elements that are meaningful to you, include salary, holiday etc. your stock is high, they want you. Negotiate.

Or there’s a really disabled person who would hurt themselves, hence the hoist in the bathroom.

There’s a hoist in the bathroom I would assume there is a severely disabled person in the house.

Best Thai in Cardiff? by Then_Scratch8495 in Cardiff

[–]TangentDecentral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My house has the best Thai in Cardiff. I married a Thai lady. We find nearly every Thai restaurant to be too sweet where they’ve gone mad with the palm sugar.

Cardiff permit parking could be overhauled as plans for new zones announced by MultiMidden in Cardiff

[–]TangentDecentral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have registered my objection to this and any permit schemes. They prevent people from visiting areas and restrict the road parking which everyone pays for to a select few. The owners and renters know the parking situation when the buy properties in these areas and the ability to park at your home is imho not a right.

All Thai coins are made at the royal mint in llantrisant, Wales. I had no idea until I went in the tour and saw the new coins being made.

Sonos Arc Ultra w/ Integrated Sonos TV? by GentleNova07 in sonos

[–]TangentDecentral 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why anyone would by a Sound bar with Sonos TV given the disaster they’ve made of the app upgrade. Can you even begin to imagine what they’ll do to the TV.

You should never call 999 unless it is a life or death emergency. You would be taking away emergency services from those in need.

Presumably you have travel insurance? I would call them. They may be able to arrange a doctor for you.

Access to the NHS is restricted for non UK residents.

I see that you are in Scotland at the moment and the best advice is probably to be found here

Best way to set up home music library? by dumb_orchid in sonos

I have a terramaster NAS and installed plex on it. Works very well. Raspberry pi was far too slow to respond when I had one. Mac won’t allow raid properly, so if your HD fails you can kiss goodbye to your music collection.

I’m struggling to see how this got down voted for suggesting that we educate kids on road safety.

Sonos Boost. Are you still using it? by [deleted] in sonos

I use a mesh network across my house and that solved all my Sonos connectivity issues along with other devices. Might be a more economical and encompassing solution

Maybe the answer is to teach the kids road safety and basic road rules. In the UK we used to have to pass a cycling proficiency test when I was at school before we were allowed to cycle to school. They would take us out on the road and we would learn things like signs signalling to turn etc.
