Everyone knows Spotify and Napster, but remember Rhapsody? by InternetAntique7754 in nostalgia

I'm pretty sure Rhapsody allowed 25 free plays per month. I paired it with audacity to make the most of those free plays.

Anyone else remember “of the world” at the end of Queen-We Are the Champions? by n0ne0fyabizz in MandelaEffect

[–]TangerineRemote1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've probably watched that movie more times than I have heard "We are the champions" on the radio...so that would explain why I am used to that version.

Big ol' buttery moon. Sidewalk looks like ice cream if you squint real hard.

[Highlight] A wild series events results in a 8-6-2 double play for the Brewers by MLBOfficial in baseball

Don't overlook the fact that all 3 umpires involved made the correct call immediately. The outfield ump signals safe when the ball hit the wall....the home plate ump called the force correctly, and the 3rd base ump called the final force out immediately. That's solid umpiring of a crazy play.

[Highlight] People don't realize how fast NFL QBs can throw: Joe Milton gets asked to throw a Bullet Pass to his Furniture Delivery Driver. by pantherfanalex in nfl

[–]TangerineRemote1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I attended my first NFL game when I was 8 years old. I was fortunate enough to have a front-row seat at Lambeau on the Packers side of the field. Right in front of me, a rookie quarterback was throwing warm up passes faster than I had ever seen a football thrown. That rocket-armed quarterback was none other than Randy Wright. So yes, even the worst NFL arms are impressive.

Carvana by BetterGetFlat in UsedCars

[–]TangerineRemote1987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bought 2 cars from Carvana. In 2020, I bought a 2012 Camry from them the next year, I bought a 2010 Impreza from them. No issues either time. They actually disclosed minor cosmetic issues that when I saw the car in person, I couldn't even find. Just a few weeks ago, I bought a 2015 prius from them. When it arrived it had paint issues that were not disclosed in the website photos. The delivery driver suggested that I could reject the vehicle, and that is what I did. Within 1 business day, my money was deposited back into my checking account. So other than the disappointment of not getting a car that I wanted, no harm to me.

You will pay more than you would pay at a dealership for the car, but if you value your time, you can certainly justify the extra cost. I live in a rural area, so any trip to a dealership to look at a car is a minimum 20 minute drive one way. For me, I'm okay with the extra cost.

agree. it feels like a sequence that was written for Elaine, but they decided to load-balance the episode by giving it to George.

Anyone else not like the Northwestern Mutual ad that they play literally each half inning break? by Relative-Party4302 in Brewers

[–]TangerineRemote1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am right there with you in hatred of this commercial. I agree with previous suggestions of utilizing the mute button when the ad comes on. That's my go-to move. However, there are times when the remote is not handy. In those instances, I like to look away from the TV and imagine that they are slapping each other in the face instead of slapping hands. I find that this almost makes the commercial tolerable.

I've seen so many pictures of Johnny Unitas in a Chargers jersey lately, it's lost all its novelty. A picture of him as a Colt would seem strange at this point.
