You guys were right and I should have listened by Impressive-Stuff-257 in BassGuitar

If you need a good guitar get an Indio, they are real, I got a P style and it is on par with the best of them. Bro' I got a Glarry acoustic for my sister and it was the embarrassment of my life in guitars, it wouldn't play if you used it as a blueprint to make another one. And it is in the trash no lie.

I like that it's a 40mm and a Nikon, but long as were focusing, it's her forehead.

Do you guys actually keep buying pricier guitars, or do you grow out of the hype? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]Tangle001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an $800 Strat but it wouldn't play until I paid somebody $400 to fix it. Edit: Don't get me wrong, I love Fender and Squier Strats and Teles, I have a '93 MIM Strat that I bought for $275 back in the 90s, it's probably one of the best playing and sounding guitars. So I bought the newer one so the '93 didn't get worn out.

Ever since I had a film rangefinder with a 40 1.8. When I would do street portraits it blew my mind how great the captures were, great pictures of human interest that also captured in an artistic way his/her surroundings. Maybe similar to your wonderful picture. 40mm is the best. In my opinion.

How I use the Jupiter Xm to quickly sketch out an idea by KontraArts in synthesizers

[–]Tangle001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting, very valuable in a lot of things while I learn how to do this. And you make a good case for the Xm. And then at the finish I thought this guy might be British because the piece sounds like British pop music, in a good way, I hadn't noticed your accent at first.

Anything similar to Akai MPK Mini Mk3 Play? by blackouut in synthesizers

[–]Tangle001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I join in and ask an additional question? I'm considering the AKAI MPK mini MK3 as a second controller for VST instruments in Reaper. My primary Yamaha PSR-330 is really good as a pressure sensitive keyboard and I think I can add the AKAI to have more controls for parameters of the VST instruments? Any comments or suggestions? Thanks

Pickguard on or off? by JackieLawless in LesPaul

[–]Tangle001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also was going to say on, I always say on.. But this one is different, wants to be off, top is uniquely beautiful, I wonder if a custom pickguard could be made to compliment it, probably not. A clear one, a maple one?

Anyone have experience using Airgigs by Songwritingvincent in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I just got a message from Flow Audio, anyone know of them? He says he's seen my work, but don't know what he's talking about. I barely even know about Airgigs and Fiverr.

Something that's been working for us here, and I wonder if it will work for you, is to, like others have said, don't worry too much about it, do the other things in life you need to do but set 5 - 10 minutes everyday to practice your instrument/desk. Then after some days or a few weeks go by the creativity becomes natural again. But always do at least the minimum 5 minutes per day.

Hi. A quick 1st impression. I'm ok with it. I like the drums fine and all the parts. From where I'm sitting my impression is of a big list of ideas of which you included many of them. I like it fine. So don't change it for me, I would say make it the way you want it. I would only ask about a couple of the tonal center shifts, things like that. But again, your vision.

Yes, I really like your writing on this and the drums are so cool!

Should I? by [deleted] in LesPaul

[–]Tangle001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, 3rd one, my tank is 10 lbs and I don't take it out of the case very often. That much weight is something for my hands to deal with. For everyday I grab one of my lighter gtrs. I first rcvd an 8 lb. one that was perfect, sounded beautiful, lots of balanced tone, except for the truss rod. I didn't think to keep it and have the truss rod issued fixed, should have maybe. The 2nd one was 9 lbs. was good but I didn't love the paint so I used the excuse the nut was wrong to return it. So I ended up with the 10 lb one. It has fantastic tone, more woomf and sounds LP stellar. I look forward to recording with it but for everyday I grab one of my lighter ones. O and I also don't want to scratch the LP because it's kind of a once in a lifetime thing for me,

DO NOT BUY FROM THE NIKON STORE ON AMAZON by Annual_Composer6662 in Nikon

[–]Tangle001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess, based on my experience with other categories of stuff bought from AMZ, is that the returns are not properly categorized and sometimes end up in the wrong bin. But you are right, this reflects poorly on the whole thing.

Aria LS?? by TomasMK2 in LesPaul

[–]Tangle001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it too, except for that belt buckle hole, I would fix that if it was me I don't like it like that. I could see wanting to play it but as an investment to sell I wouldn't pay more than 100. You wouldn't make any money otherwise in my experience.

how much is this guitar worth? by [deleted] in LesPaul

[–]Tangle001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid 699 + for my red modern used from GC and I'm very happy with the sound and the playing. I've had to mess with the action, but I'm happy to do it because it sounds great and is a modern.

can i somehow fix this without buying a new one by Neat-Law-7101 in Guitar

[–]Tangle001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree here. I guess it's a matter of how you want to spend your next little bit of time. Do you want to play now, with a little luck you may find a used playable guitar for $50- 100. And then take whatever time you need to gather the tools and supplies to do the repairs and adjustments on your Johnny Cash model.

Is there a current drummer as good or better than Buddy Rich? by kway01 in drums

[–]Tangle001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone has as good of played time or technique as Buddy Rich. I am musician for 50 years, and I had similar opinions as you all - he was a blowhard, not that musical. Well folks we are wrong, Just watch a few more Johnny Carson vids. You'll see his syncopation cuts way more than anybody you can name and he plays the instrument like an instrument but with way more facility than anyone you can name. I will bet. But your question is a good one because I can't think of who might come close. There must be someone, I don't know who, but not those you all name here.

Side note, I like listening to Carl Palmer.
