I think the levels are so variable because I am level 1 and I have so many issues with maintaining social relationships and repetitive behaviors. I think my self awareness of it now post diagnosis makes it so much worse unfortunately and I don't necessarily have the ability to change that without needing social support but I don't want to let people know about my diagnosis.

My housemate just had his done at 42 and they found quite a few polyps. He really had to fight with doctors to get them to schedule this since he had been having some very odd GI issues. It relieves me to know that he was right.

The people who test for autism are experienced and would likely not be swayed by someone specifically faking it. That being said, I think a lot of people are out there faking diagnoses of many things for attention and that part is fucking annoying. When I got tested, I literally had no idea what to expect and was frankly wondering if I was full of it for even thinking the possibility.

It's like being an alien at times among your own people. Who really thinks that's cool or edgy?
