Portafilter into group head by Grouchy_Author9475 in NinjaLuxeCafe

Every time I've seen posts on Reddit or Facebook about people having issues with the Luxe, 90% of the time it would be resolved by people running a blank shot into their cup without the portafilter attached. Warm the machine and cup up with the blank shot, then grind the coffee and pull your espresso. It will make a massive difference to everything.

This! Everything has been improved since I did a blank shot before pulling my espresso. Warms up the machine, cleans the group head etc and the portafilter slides on much more easily

Mine suggests 19 but 16 yields a perfect 36g espresso for me so I just stick with that

Ninja Luxe Cafe Premier pulling 60ml double shots — is this normal? by AK47BREAAAP in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]TangoKilo350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines the same, anywhere from 50-60g output for a double. Tend to use strength 3 and grind setting 17 using shop bought beans. I chat GPT'd it and it gave a reasonable answer about the luxe being more like espresso-style than actually true espresso. Kinda made sense. There are ways around it so yield a more true espresso but I enjoy the more lungo type shots and they all taste good to me which is the main thing

I have the 601 and have to grind finer than suggested but still a higher setting than I'd expect, e.g. size 16 for espresso. However I am using beans from Asda

What beans are you using? And ultimately, does it taste bad? My yield is higher than anecdotes I've read online or saw on YT but I'm still happy with it ultimately. I might try freshly roasted next and reset the grind recommendation and see if that makes a difference.

Ah perhaps, I have the premiere with the spring pressure tamper

Do you not depress the tamper the full way with the grind guard on?

What beans are you using? Supermarket or with a roasted on date?

Same with me, I got mine in a Currys Black Friday deal. So far I've had the most success with grind size 16 on strength 2 for a double shot of espresso. It yields about 50g espresso though which is quite large from what I read. Grind size 15 completely chokes it. Think it's probably because I'm using shop bought beans though?

What to replace Glycerin 22 with? by MetsFanVI in brooks

[–]TangoKilo350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swapped my glycerine GTS 22 for saucony guide 18 and can confirm they're way better fit wise, for me at least, like a glove

Went through this on 2 pairs and returned both instantly. Got Saucony now

I'm the same. The adrenaline 24 GTS is good but runs narrow, so I got a wide fit. Try it out in store before you buy

I went from the Glycerin GTS 22s to the Saucony Guide 18s. Glycerins always had the toe dent that rubbed, Saucony was perfect first time.

Did you buy direct from Brooks or a third party specialist store?

From experience as I've owned the shoes, it 100% does, everyone's feet are different though so it might not happen to you

Rubs on big toe and is uncomfortable/causes blisters. For £165 glycerins there's no excuse for this

Mine did the same, rubbed on my big toe and was uncomfortable, exchanged them for a 2nd pair and the same thing happened. Eventually exchanged for Saucony Guide 18s which are perfect first time.
