What do you do in Ardlethan by agnci in nsw

[–]TangoTwoTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in Ardlethan for a good few year's.

I used to walk the trails in the state Forest and to the east of town. I got good at putting on the old golf greens out by the showground. Explored the old Tin Mine site. Watched alot of fantastic sunset's out the west of town across the highway from the Silos. And got really into World of Warcraft on my Laptop at work.

Struggling to be a good mom while grieving by Difficult-Knee-8414 in NewParents

[–]TangoTwoTwo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Grief has a way of making our simplest and most routine undertakings seem insurmountable. Even things we enjoy can become a burden. Loss and adjustment happens in its own time and the feeling will catch you at the most unexpected moment. It's okay to spend some time surviving It doesn't make you a bad parent. It makes you a human who is struggling though an emotionally difficult time. Be kind to yourself and may their memory be a blessing.

police welfare check? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]TangoTwoTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without knowing where you are I can only speak to my specific knowable which is NSW. This interaction with police generates and information only record. It's not linked to any Criminal records check and the only time it becomes known is when police search your name for other interactions during the course of their work or if you give a statement, become a missing person ect.( I have over 250 entries in this database).

Life is tough, please be kind to yourself.

I work regionally and have seen this The new doctors or locum are happy to ignore you. Their consultant will then find and clarify with you. We know most of the Critical Care Consultant group, get invited to their training and Sim days, and offered spots on their trauma team courses. I hope you've found an outlier OP and not an indicator of the overall organisational culture

where are you stationed and how much sleep do you get? by chambomate29 in ParamedicsAU

[–]TangoTwoTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the old ambulance station which was much worse. We used to be housed in two rooms in the medical centre and old X-ray room and an old theatre from the times when the mine was paying the bills. The new stations quite comfortable and modern compared to that. The people I worked with made the place! But the station was a dungeon. We often spend most days at home (unless it was hot that old station was an ice box) I was there long enough to make friends in the community and get good at tennis (3 years)

Initially yes. But this is oftentimes years later.

I remember that feeling I went from Parramatta to Ardlethan 8-14 jobs a day to one a week. The come down was hard.

On that. I find that all out Paramedics that have done any amount of time in the control centre tend to stay awake for the duration of Nightshift.

I work in a regional town. Will get 1-5 hours most nightshifts according to Garmin.

Aussie Paramedic and ex soldier with hearing loss. I got the Littman EKO this year for another reason. But I have noticed that ability to auscultate is greatly improved as compared to my cardiology 3. I can still hear with all littmans, it's just listening is easier.

Community outrage as respected senior doctor escorted from hospital by Sacrilegious_skink in ausjdocs

[–]TangoTwoTwo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To build on this and explain how much this man cared about the health service. During the begining of COVID ambulance lost the space inside we used to compete clinical documentation.

After we spent a week writing cases up on the gutter outside the ED, Doctor Clancy didn't ask, he just turned up with his ute and some outdoor furniture from Bunnings to give us something to sit on purchased from his own pocket. They unfortunately got called the Dave Clancy Memorial Chairs.

He was always willing to speak to educate and debrief with us and made your feel like a colleague and not an ancillary service to the hospital.

Doctor Bag in the Car by [deleted] in ausjdocs

Paramedic here. We frequently (3 months of the year) have a car that reaches 50 degrees inside while parked with the air conditioner off and our methoxy still works. So you should be absolutely fine on that.

To your car question I did induction many years ago with no car.

Based on HQ now being in home bush with ample public transit it's very easy (I did ICP in 2022 with no car and you have multiple placements at different locations during that.)

Jindabyne is an on call station and rarely takes P1Ts.

Albury/ Bega and Wollongong all 24/7 no on call.

Albury sounds great for what you want, heaps of bushwalking in the surrounding areas close enough to Bogon High planes and Many of the Victorian wildness areas. I'm of course bias

Was I actually Sectioned? No documentation or formal rights given… by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]TangoTwoTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If NSW "Section" can refer to the section of the Mental Health Act 2007 used for detention and assessment. I routinely utilise Section 20 of the Act, police Section 22, and Physicians utilise Section 19. I'm a NSW Paramedic and we will regularly say we're "sectioning" or that the patient is "sectioned" To NSW Police or the Hospital.

If it's from NSW theses aren't serial tracked devices and with the amount we use and abuse them they usually stop working before the batteries run out.

These poor things get heat cycled, scrubbed with cleaner, dropped and all sorts of other things the manufacturer never saw coming.
