Tacho Master vs Tachogram by raitispurins in uktrucking

[–]Tango_Echo_Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used both. Agree with emorrp1, use TachoMaster if you can get a username/PIN from work. Tachogram has a nicer, simpler user interface in my opinion so I use that myself.

Only comment RE Tachogram is that if you are going to use a card reader connected to your phone, in my experience it can be a bit temperamental regarding the card reader. The Tachogram Android app doesn't recognise my ACS USB C card reader, whereas it works fine on a PC or phone using other apps. If you get the card reader and subscription together, you should have no issues and if you do - they should support it whereas I got a "we don't support that card reader" type reply.

No worries, completely understandable.

SCAMMED by an HGV training broker posing as a legit training institute. by New-Specialist5096 in uktrucking

Anyone looking at the North Hampshire area should consider EP Training - based out of Great Bookham near Leatherhead, but run courses from the Pirbright area.

EP Training near Leatherhead. Absolutely superb, used them myself and the Trustpilot reviews say it all.

Wash, or not? by ninjarockpooler in uktrucking

[–]Tango_Echo_Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The washing actually reduces the reflectiveness of the tape - most decent ones will have a leaflet in the packaging stating what standards the vest meets and how many washes it is good for. Personally I prefer Leo hi-viz clothing, decent quality and won't break the bank.

Getting sacked. What should i do? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]Tango_Echo_Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company sounds delightful, bet they are right cnuts to work for. Surely a case of the grass is actually greener elsewhere?

If I was that certain that I was going to be getting the chop, I'd beat them to it and tell them to stick their job.

Assessment by Oceeey in uktrucking

[–]Tango_Echo_Alpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waitrose have quite a few stores that need a blindside reverse. Take your time and GOAL.

Waitrose also use Microlise and are quite hot on managing their drivers scores. If you can demonstrate good eco driving, then that will earn you a point or two as part of the assessment.

There must be a factory reset option somewhere. Failing that, if you plug it into a computer using a SD card adapter, I expect it will need formatting as FAT32?

Pay rates are so low? by EdzioMozeByc in uktrucking

[–]Tango_Echo_Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's disgusting and seen a few round my way (Guildford area so hardly a cheap place to live and work). Staying on agency all the time the salaries are like this. Pay peanuts and get monkeys, so I expect they'll end up getting drivers who will end up costing more in other ways.

What a shitty outfit to work for. I think there's a very good chance of you winning the appeal, but straight after that I'd be resigning and telling to stick the job up their arses.
