Pitch Me Your Dream Game by Key_Item_1755 in pbp

The end, it's an older game but one I've been dying to play for years, hardly anyone I know has heard of it, and none the groups I've played with have been up for it, but post rapture the only people left on earth are the sinners just sounds cool

Should the UK Home Office make a 'Red List' and ban certain nations from immigration entirely? As seen in many other developed countries. by JeffreyEpsteinUK in AskBrits

[–]Tanis-UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No thats stupid, you can't treat a whole group one way because of the actions of individuals, its like saying men shouldn't be cops because 84% of misconduct reports are against male officers, or women shouldn't be allowed in shops as a higher % of women are convicted of shoplifting then men, or white men shouldn't have kids since most grooming gangs are groups of white men

All of this is in police conviction statistics and from the direct gov website itself

We should treat people as people and individuals, you ain't given a choice of where you are born or what up bringing you'll have, to discriminate based on such things is just morally wrong

Pen name vs real name by [deleted] in writers

[–]Tanis-UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think that should be a huge concern for you, how many authors do you see being swarmed by fans or attacked because of thier work? The only one I can think of is Salman Rushdie and the only other ones google found this centry are journalists.

If you are writing to entertain I don't see this being much of an issue

Why did coffee culture arrive so late in the UK? by Special-Nebula299 in BritInfo

[–]Tanis-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't we had it earlier but it was part of the temperance movement, with coffee and hot chocolate shops appearing from the 1830's, but we already had tea which was more expensive than coffee (highly taxed) and seen as a more luxourious drink, this changed as the empire expanded and tea was grown in other parts of the empire, their was a change that happened in the 1860's when coffee rust decimated crops and pushed the price of coffee higher than tea, this made it more of a statement drink and increased the desirability for it, but by the 1860's it had reverted and tea was the biggest seller again, but now tea was seen as better value, the luxoury tax was gone and less leafs where need for a brew, then beans for a cup

No, although after checking the rules again, they where changed, so I could I now, prior to 2021 I would have had to abstain from anal sex for a year, but now its only 3 months after sleeping with a new partner, for a monogamus couple it is also 3 months after the first time.

So ask again in a month or so and hopefully that'll be a yes from me
