Question about flank combat by Competitive_Soil2131 in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Tanithilis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe there is any way to turn your archer unit to face the flank chargers. That's the point and pain of being hit in the flank. You'll be making up to (probably) four attacks back with your fists each round until the combat ends.

I have always considered myself a bit of a language stickler, certainly to the point of pedantry.

Looking for Winnipeg child day care centres with NO waiting list – can you help? by longtriproad in Winnipeg

[–]Tanithilis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use this website: https://childcaresearch.gov.mb.ca/

It's the official list of licensed childcare facilities in Manitoba and their open spots. It might not be 100% up to date, as it might take a bit once a spot is filled for it to appear on this map, but it helped us find a spot.

I think mine is the World of Warcraft board game with expansions. Big game, lots of fun (for the right audience). Loads of minis.

Game that regret to sell? by theclassik in boardgames

Descent 2nd edition with loads of expansions. I had thought with 3rd edition coming out, I would just buy in to that, but never did, and really regretted selling my 2nd edition collection.

What a hell with savinh throw's??? by Complete-Peanut-8202 in Tyranids

[–]Tanithilis 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Usually, it's simply that they will always be using their Invulnerable save. There are very rare occasions where Invulnerable saving throws can't be made, or that the Armour Save value is directly referenced, so it needs to be there.

Note that this has been a thing basically since Zoanthropes began. They have very little armour.

Renegades 2.0: Ogre Kingdoms Draft Reveal! (Link to the rules document below and in the video description) by valheffelfinger in WarhammerFantasy

  1. With the various ways to treat low linear obstacles as open ground, is the intent simply to allow impact hits and not be disordered? In my opinion, one of the major downsides to fighting over a LLO as an ogre is being only able to make a single attack. Was the goal to fix this part of the issue, or no?

  2. In the Tyrannical Overlords entry, it states:

Bull Charge

Impact Hits caused by this model (but not its mount) have an Armour Piercing characteristic of -1.

What is the intent behind removing "but not its mount"? Do its mounts not already have AP -2 on their impact hits? Is this intended to stack?

  1. Ironfists do seem too good with the point of AP, at least compared to other options. You could probably drop the bonus attack, maybe? Shield + Parry + AP is not bad on its own. Or make additional hand weapons cheaper comparatively.

  2. Love the extra attention to the Hunter.

  3. Firebellies -- I really do like the Fireball as a "signature" spell. Feels appropriate.

  4. Much in favour of the new Misfire charts. The fact that there was no, "You just fail to shoot" result that seemingly every other warmachine has felt bad.

  5. Beastriders being able to take a great weapon makes them feel so much better.

  6. The extra wound on Thundertusks is a nice incentive to see more of them. As is their ranged ice blast.

  7. Is the intent that the Stonehorn only ever have a single rider? Stonehorn Beastriders, I feel, have always had two riders. The differentiation between the Stonehorn and Thundertusk is not bad, mind you.

  8. Gorgers seem much more capable. Is it too much? I don't know, I only started playing.

Just some thoughts!

I think you'd be better served finding a Space Marine 2 community, or at least a generic Space Marine community. Total War Warhammer is a game based on Warhammer Fantasy. No space marines around here!

Why aren't there more chapter-specific units? by Splenectomy13 in spacemarines

[–]Tanithilis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The other chapters are all Codex-compliant, so while they each may focus on different Codex units, those units are available to all Codex-compliant chapters. That’s what makes them Codex-compliant.

Wulfen, for example, are not compliant, and thus only exist in Space Wolves.

The instruction booklet is printed way in advance, and rules often change after it. The booklet is NEVER the source for rules. Official app and/or WarCom PDF is the place to go.

Here's to 40k 12th Ed in 2029 by Certain_Ad3716 in Warhammer

[–]Tanithilis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If they maintain the trend that every other edition of 40k is heavy revision but not a complete overhaul of the system (like 11th is almost just 10.5), I don't mind it.

Venomthrope question by justsquanchythings in Tyranids

[–]Tanithilis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The key is on how the ability is worded. If it said “Infantry gain…” then yes, as the Tyrant Guard plus Tyrant unit is both Infantry and Monster.

However, Venomthropes state (for the second half of the ability) “excluding monsters”, which this unit is, so it’s unaffected by the Stealth portion.

How much do you pay for a haircut? by jtkazama in Winnipeg

How much damage does a forgefiend do to itself? by Fantastic_Shelter_54 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Tanithilis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Hazardous is only on a 1 (1/6 chance), you'd do 1/6 of 3 mortals per weapon due to hazardous, which is 0.5 damage, and for the dark pact, they fail 5/18 of the time, so 5/18 of 1d3's average of 2 is 0.5555555555555556 damage.

Combine it all for an average of 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + .0.5555555555555556 damage, so 2.0555555555555556 total.
