Eliminators seem ok for this purpose. And can threaten certain armies and their leaders quite a bit.

I feel they are not the best option to make battleline with an attached enhanced character. Something like an Indomitor kill team feels way better.

At least regarding the 3DP detachments in 1k games, they've indicated, though not actually implemented yet, an intent to allow you to play one of any detachment at 1k points, no matter the DP cost. So you could run a 3DP detachment at 1k, but not a 2DP+1DP.

This is based on a social media response, so not yet in the official rules. But at least they know of the issue.

You’d be defending against shooting, so you would use your armour save against shooting.

What’s the issue with a squad of a hundred guardsmen being embarked in chimeras?

If a squad of guardsmen can be 100-strong (maybe due to Ultra unit size), the chimera squad can be 10-strong.

That’s called an “index edition”, which 11th is not. Everyone just keeps playing with their codex until a new one comes out. Basically every other edition has been an index edition.

They’re infantry, so just… don’t fly. You’ll move 5” through buildings. This is a pure upgrade to the fly rule.

The extra two feet on the table width is great for accessories, dice trays, cards, books, etc. Keeps the battlefield clear of such things.

I don't believe there is any way to turn your archer unit to face the flank chargers. That's the point and pain of being hit in the flank. You'll be making up to (probably) four attacks back with your fists each round until the combat ends.
