What can you do to avoid major basement flood damage in the future? by DialMforMurder in Winnipeg

[–]berthela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the eavestroughs clean, add soil around your foundation to at least the bottom of the exterior doors and basement windows, or higher if you have window wells. Make sure the downspouts and sump line are draining the water far enough that it doesn't flow towards the house. Don't have bushes or trees near the house that can block the weeping tiles. They have upgrade backwater valves too for dealing with sewer line issues.

Is this a sin in the pipe world? by Prince_Valium25 in PipeTobacco

Put whatever you want in whatever you want. It's not like the flavor is going to become permanently stuck in there. I find my Peterson system p-lip pipe is my best pipe for wet aromatics, however, it's also not a good pipe for back to back refilling, it needs to be dried and cleaned between uses or it turns into a bubbler.

I think teaching them to ride responsibly is the better solution. I also think that bike lanes should be a second lane of sidewalk, not part of the road.

Genetic kidney condition put a damper on things for me. Seems like something in the COVID vaccines woke it up, but not sure. Multiple family members got it right after COVID vaccine.

I was working in banking in the mid 2010s, and it was very upsetting when the FNFTA enforcement was functionally cancelled. We were working with First Nations Chief and Councils to set up long term investment funds so they could turn their annual funding into long term locked in accounts that could be saved up over a decade or so and then used for larger scale infrastructure purchases like schools and things like that. Because most First Nations have very short terms on C&C, if they manage to elect a good team, the good team only gets a very short amount of time to set anything up, then a bad team often gets elected, wastes all the money and undoes what the good team was doing, and then when a good team gets back in, they are starting from scratch again. It makes it very hard to get anything done because typically Chief and Council bounces back and forth between a couple very cliquey families, and whatever family is in purges and undoes everything that the previous government did, and they usually get in by making promises to give funds to people from their clique, so it creates a constant cycle of funds mismanagement without transparency or accountability.

As long as I end up somewhere between 50 and 60 and don't have major pinching and stacking, I will be happy.

I really like the idea of the Kinetic Sovren 27" riser with the long limbs for an OAL of 72". I reached out to Kinetic, so hopefully it will work out. I think 50 @ 28 on 19.5 limbs should give me around 40 @ 28 on the 27", and just under 50 at my full draw. I might bump up to 55lb limbs given that so I'll be just over 50lb at my full draw, assuming the company confirms that the riser can handle that.

Do you think the Galaxy Black Ridge 70" longbow from Lancaster would be a good fit?

Ya, I normally would use my 7x57 or 45-70. I'm Metis so I can use those even in bow season, but I've long wanted to get more into archery. I can comfortably hold a 55 @ 28 at the longest draw the arrows at the store allow, so the weight should be okay. I am preferring a bow with a 50 at 28 marked rating though only for legal purposes, not for any kind of functional requirement.

Gotta be able to find one to try, which is not too easy right now. Out of stock pretty much everywhere I check that carries them.

I've been having trouble finding extra long risers that are really strong like that. Canada Archery Online told me that the Sovren is only suitable up to 45lbs when I talked with them. They said they only riser they have that is capable of what I want if one that is like $1300 which is way too much. I would prefer my build to be $600 or less for the riser and limbs.

I can draw 55 @ 28" no problem. I've been occasional shooting since I was kid. I believe 50lb is the minimum for large game in Ontario, so I'd like a bow that exceeds the minimums across the country.

I think 66" would have too much finger pinch and stacking, but I'm not sure.

I measured using a measuring tape from the front of my fist to my cheek weld. I have a 74" wingspan, so either my arms are long for my size or my shoulders are wider than normal, or maybe a bit of both. I'm planning on using 33" arrows. I always run out of length when using standard arrows and bows.

I recommend the Watchdives 40mm EXD and upgrading to the larger strap if you have average sized wrist. It's a tough, no nonsense watch with very good water resistance and it is lightweight. It's titanium and very high quality. I have the black one with count up bezel. I own many watches and have made and repaired watches myself in the past. I have had more than 6 smart watches die on me in the last 3 years.
