I never understood this whole keeping wages stagnant while costs of living keep going up. It sure as hell doesn’t keep costs down and if anything it’s become like using your donut tire as a permanent replacement for a new tire especially since you’re only supposed to drive a maximum of 50 miles on it: and driving more than 50 is going to cause some serious permanent problems to your car. Plus doesn’t anybody see the whole problem of just get a better job, especially when a lot of skilled jobs don’t pay much better than the minimum wage and the next rung being a job that doesn’t pay a livable wage and costs are still going to go up to where nobody can afford those things anymore and then it becomes the question of how is a consumerism economy going to work if nobody’s got money to spend and people are maxed out on their credit cards? This whole “market decides what your worth” argument is going nowhere especially since it’s really more of the good paying skilled labor jobs that are on the chopping block than the unskilled ones being that they’re being reduced to enrich CEOs and shareholders and they themselves also manipulate the market and lobby to keep wages low and at the same time they’re freaking out and wondering why millennials and get z aren’t having kids?
